Cover B has Brokenshire’s Crimson Corsair, and Cover A has a tiny thumbnail of him on it too. So there’s an argument to be made that he has a cover appearance on Cover A as well.
Wel, 1:10 has the pirate that Crimson Corsair is up against in the thumbnail. Wild.
they are screwing everything up … now what are they going to do, make the connecting cover as RI on 11? Probably just never have connecting incentives…
Hit an LCS about an hour away. Here are my pick-ups.
This LCS is a little out of the way, but is pretty big. Even so, these were sitting on the shelf still. Yoink!
On to the back issues.
If you spend $50 you get 50% off single issues in the long boxes. So picked up a few star wars books $5-$6 ea. I think the Leia as Boushh cover was featured in one of @drunkwooky ’s threads about Boushh appearances…first cover maybe? It’s pretty cool painted cover either way.
“From the best I can tell, Shadows of the Empire #4 from Dark Horse is the first cover appearance of Boushh’s armor.”
These true believer Kanan covers were hitting close to $30 not that long ago but seem to have settled down. I think it may hold the title as True Believers book with highest resale value (unsigned)….or it did for a while. 50 cents ea.
I think this Marvels Greatest May be the first time FF48 was reprinted ($6).
High grade Marvel Tales McFarlane cover…newsstand!! ($1.50)
Tekworld #1 for 50 cents! Looks in great shape.
I’ve been looking for certain true believers reprints…some have appreciated to nice flips. But for 50 cents I’ll grab these for potential future flips when the time right. Or just keep them as readers.
Total cost was $52 for the pile (19 comics). Not bad.
I managed to find two of those FF 358s in the back bins at my LCS. I don’t know why I left one the first time I found them, but I had to go back a few days later to get the second. It was still there!
(aside: after enduring listening to the dude–not the owner nor the other guy who is super awesome there–behind the counter complain with another customer about Marvel and Star Wars and their decrease in straight, white male representation, I plop the book down and he’s like, “that’s a hot one now. 9.8s are going for a ton, and this looks pretty good” to which I replied <…crickets…>. Guess you shoulda checked the bins, dude)
I would have picked it up, then accidently dropped it… then replied with… “oh, doesn’t look so good now… sorry, no longer interested, I only buy potential 9.8s”
I know, right? I think he wanted to figure out if I was one of those dirty speculators. I rarely see that particular guy; he doesn’t work the days I usually go in, so it’s whatever.
