Yes. Disney/Marvel has a partnership with Veve. They don’t just do comics, but also digital figures. There are “print runs” and they vary. Normally there are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra Rare and Secret Rare. It is a “blind box” format usually, which means that you have a chance at a rare one, and they will give you the odds of each up front. One catch - it is based on the OMI crypto, and they are still working on some issues. They also just recently booted some people off for using bots to gain an unfair advantage when the NFT drops. But they are legit NFT’s.
You all know my thoughts on NFTs so I’ll defer to @agentpoyo about giving them a thread. If it were up to me I would simply call them a scam and have us never discuss them.
100% scam
Meh veve nfts aren’t real nfts imo. I barely call Solana nfts real nfts ATM.
You can’t use anything but gems to buy on veve, then there’s no official cash out method from gems to USD your stuck with gems, and then also your ‘veve nft’ is only available to be seen on veve, no transferring to an actual wallet or cold storage since, as I said before, they aren’t real nfts.
Does anyone know where to find the YouTube video with the Jim interview? I think it is comic Tom. I can’t find it but want to watch! Thanks.
Quidd, which came before Veve, just shut down the in-app cash market for their old Marvel “NFTs” which is a bummer and there are no new Marvel releases. You can transfer them now, though, which means you can sell your old Marvel stuff on eBay or wherever similar to what happens with Topps Marvel Collect and Topps Star Wars Card Trader.
I’ve made quite the killing over the last few months selling my old GoT, Rick and Morty, and NBA Pinini stuff on Quidd. Granted, it’s all stuff I acquired between 2016-2019 when it was a “trading” app. I did over $1500 in sales last week and cashed it all out. They aren’t officially NFTs since it’s all on Quidd’s server but the money is real.
It was a comictom show during the pandemic. The one I saw wasn’t a Jim interview, he was a guest talking about that week’s hot comics. There were multiple guests on as well.
they looove Jim comics pics.
I just picked up the character spotlight variant. More for cover spec than any appearances.
Any idea why Cover A is selling more than Cover B ?
My personal opinion is this is a rare case where cover B was ordered more than cover A. Everyone knew about that Eva cover ahead of time and there was a lot of talk about it pre FOC.
I think it’s because they pumped A and didn’t speak to B. So that’s where the sheep flocked to.
Also B sold out fast online as I recall…the copy I found this weekend was the first I saw it in a shop…seen many A cover though.
I guess it depends on the shop. All I could find was cover B in my area. No cover A’s to be found. And cover B was definitely hyped pre FOC.
Shops around me don’t go heavy on variants to begin with. And have any of the character spotlights done anything since issue 2? Maybe they’re hyped, but doesn’t mean shops are buying into the hype.
A quick search on comic hub I find 50 shops still have the A cover available, while only 12 have the Spotlight variant.
Issue #13 Magik spotlight did really well. 1st Gaslamp
Ah yes. The power girl swipe cleavage shot.
Forgot about that one.
Shout out to Wooky on IG.
Bad Batch Hunted screen comix TP out May 04. Omega makes her first full appearance in the book and she is on cover (as of today her first cover appearance). Omega and Boba Fett only true unaltered clones of Jango Fett. With rumours of Capt Rex showing up in Obi Wan series is she far behind? Disney definitely has plans for her. Technically not a comic as images from animated show in book but I am getting two copies for sure. Caveat - Obi Wan comic launches same day which tells stories of his adventures. Possibility she may show up there but I am not risking it and have this pre ordered. Shout out to @wookywikiwho posted about this in February. Don’t sleep on this one.
About damn time.
