Lanterns

Took it from him, to keep him from it. Not to keep it.

It’s an interesting takeaway if you think John is the prick and not Hal. John has constantly done stuff outside of what is best for him personally and chosen outcomes to benefit others. Hal is self serving and fell to Sinestro’s sway.

I think they are both prickish to be honest. My thing was his parents raised him to earn it and I felt like he went against all that by beating up Hal and taking the ring. I am glad at the end he gave it to the guardian and not keep it for himself but he was raised to be good enough and beating the ring off Hal didn’t show he was good enough.

The fact that we have this thread going pretty consistent which we really haven’t had in quite a while is a testament to the show being pretty good…at least as far as keeping interest and speculation of what’s going on.

I think if they released all episodes at once it wouldn’t be the same, obviously. The trailers for episode 6 are looking pretty good too.

Weekly releases are superior for viewership and excitement.

Show is decent. Outside of the occasional political agenda, it is a good watch.

No spoilers since it just dropped but Ep6 was another good one and like the other eps is sure to bring out opinions in people. Moved the mystery forward and left me with a couple questions/theories. Enjoyed the Guy Gardner scenes. Aaron Pierre did a great job as the 10 years later version of John. Shout out to the sheriff too, great actress I don’t recall seeing in anything else.

She’s Star Saphire

The woman who plays the sheriff ( Kelly Macdonald) got her big break in Trainspotting way back when.

For me the show is OK. There is enough each week to keep me going to the next episode to see where it leads but I am not blown away. I am not the biggest Green Lantern fan but I have read story arcs here and there and the versions of Hal and John in this show just doesn’t seem enough like their comic book counterparts for my taste. I’m still not sure I like either of them. I do think Guy is pretty much spot on.
I know the show wants to be edgy but how many “F” bombs is needed each episode? Starts taking me out of it after the twentieth time or so. Seems when the writers don’t know how to push the scene organically they throw in some “F” bombs to add extra tension or wake the viewer up. For me the show is more on the average side. I guess I like my super hero shows/movies to be more feel good and heroic and less edgy and slow paced. Just my take.

There are some animated GL series without the “F bomb”

This is a grittier, more real-life adaptation of lanterns operating within a real-world environment. I think people cuss in real life when cities are destroyed and hundreds of people die.

I agree. It’s overdone and feels tryhard at times. I curse a fair bit so it’s not offensive to me, it just doesn’t always sound natural. I almost laughed out loud at how dumb “■■■■■■■■■” sounded.

Some of the f bombs would more likely be hell, s*** or other words.

I have not watched the latest episode yet. Went to bed early last night.

when hal’s letter mentions no female lantern, they will definitely be bringing in cruz or far sector

Oh wow she’s been around a while then, I’ll have to check out her IMDB. I saw an interview with the actress and was even more impressed at her as the sheriff when you hear how very non American her accent is in real life.

Wow. Nice.

That book has been hot for a long time. Make sure you look for the 2nd print, it has the red background and goes for significantly more than the first print.

Two second prints sold recently. One at $50 and one at $100. Big jump between the two.

They do, and that is when it would feel more organic just not so much when they are pretty much saying hello or how’s dad (generalizing). I just think the show overdoes it.
