I hate stock photos. I was told I was annoying on ebay for asking for photos when he said he gave an accurate description of the book. If I cant see the slight corner dings and press able defects u claim are minor dont let me buy the book and ask for a refund when it’s not as described and there are no clear pictures.
I’m in a agreement with you, Spidey. I don’t like stock photos of comics books.
I don’t have that problem with buyers too often and I agree with the seller. It’s a brand new comic and I’m listing it as NM because it is NM and my feedback agrees with my grading. I don’t have a problem sending people pics though if they ask. I wouldn’t use stock photos with older books
What I hate is people who say they arent professional graders so judge for yourself by the pictures. You can look over the actual photos and get the comic and still see a bunch of defects that didn’t show but hey they aren’t a professional grader and you just bought a book with no real description of the condition it’s in lol
I understand using stock photos. I don’t because I’m paranoid the buyer will use it against me to do a return. I trust many buyers as far as I can throw them unless I’ve dealt with them a few times and know they’re cool.
So I got blocked on Mercari by Utopia717 in regards to a McFarlane Batgirl figure. I asked if the figure is complete and includes the BAF piece, they said they still have the BAF piece and will include and “update the listing” to reflect the BAF piece being added. I also asked if they have the art card which they said they do not, but theistic had been updated. When I checked the listing, multiple times and refreshing often, all I saw change was the shipping price. They never updated description or photos to include (or prove) the BAF piece is included, which left me little protection as a buyer. I told them I am passing on the deal and they claimed I wasted their time and blocked me.
Am I out of line, or should the seller had updated the description and added a photo of the BAF piece?
I don’t think you’re out of line. If they meant to include the BAF info, they would have.
He should of updated the listing at least without a picture but you also had him in messages saying it would be included so you could of used that as evidence had you not received it. Dont take it personally im sure you’ll find a better seller.
No. But should you worry about it? Absolutely not. If a buyer is going to block you by just simply asking questions, then you probably don’t want to buy from them anyways.
Sounds like he blocked you because he couldn’t scam you. Don’t worry about it.
so i opened an account and listed a book, when i tried to list a 2nd my account got “limited” and no one responds to my emails. company is trash
Did you go through all the verification steps as well?
That doesn’t sound right. I signed up recently and had the opposite experience from you. I have not disclosed any ID or banking info either. Very strange…and even more disappointing that you cannot get in touch with a service arm.
Yep phone and cc, after they limited me they wiped my profile, just says inactive user when I sign in
In all seriousness though, that’s just odd.
finally got back to me, they fixed it and my account works again. i guess listing expensive items to start caused system to auto flag me
Be MEGA careful of CruelAngelComics on Mercari. People are shady AF! I just purchased a Batman 655/656 lot and the books were EXTREMELY misrepresented.
The listing’s pictures weren’t great, but for the price I decided to risk it as the seller had all positive reviews and he described the books are NM-NM+.
When I received the books they were FAR from NM. Full of small, color breaking spine tics. Then I decided to inspect them further and I found that the cover to 656 is COMPLETELY detached!
When I told the seller about how the books arrived this was his response:
Needless to say I won’t be buying from him ever again, and I suspect he is trying to scam people, banking on the fact that folks probably won’t be removing the books from their bags/boards if they are keys.
Luckily Mercari gave me credit to use on a future purchase and doesn’t require me to ship the items back, which I would have gladly done because I don’t want these turds in my collection.
This guy is literally trying to claim that all of this damage, including a fully detached cover, happened in shipping.
The books were shipped sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard and inside of a bubble mailer that was FURTHER folded down for extra padding. The packaging was sufficient and the one thing he did correct (mostly).
He is upset that he got caught trying to scam.
I reached out to Mercari to see what portion of my sales would be reported to the IRS and their response baffles me. I’m not a tax expert, but it seems off that they’d report the unadjusted gross amount that includes shipping and tax paid by the buyer to Mercari in the amount reported as being paid to me.
When a buyer buys something on Mercari, the transaction is between them and Mercari. It’s only later that Mercari pays out to the seller minus the fees.
Thoughts?
Makes sense. Otherwise we’re back to people selling items for $.01 and then jacking up the price to $10-$1000 for “shipping and handling.”
It’s up the the individual to determine actual “income” from the sale with the appropriate IRS forms and instructions provided.
