Of course they are… they know speculators are the ones who want this… if speculators didn’t exist in comics books, this industry would be way worse off, particularly with the prints vs digital, etc.

It does beg the question of where do they go after all the major characters have their first Absolute appearance. If the audience doesn’t burn out before then.

It is entertaining and all, but after the major story arc ends and it just becomes “battle of the next few issues” story arcs over and over, I wonder how long interest will last. I can see the major Joker arc ending somewhere between 25-37, if not in 25 itself for the milestone issue. After that, what’s AB got? Considering a lot of start up non-major continuity series like this don’t make it past 12 issues, AB is doing great holding interest thus far. But another 12 past a milestone issue like 25 will push this pretty far. A major confrontation with Joker is inevitable. After that, it will take some good creative ideas to keep people coming back for more. Otherwise, it will devolve into “who’s Batman refighting this time” just like any other Batman title.
To be fair they are reimagining a lot of characters in this universe, so possibilities are endless. Ra’s Al-Ghul in Superman as one example, Absolute Grodd is another. Plus there are opportunities for wholly new characters.
Can’t wait for The Absolute Batman Who Laughs!!

I am waiting for the big reveal…… Absolute Absolute Batman. The absolute version of absolute Batman.
I want to remind everyone that this version of Batman was originally called Batman AF ( as in As F_ck) but dc chickened out of the name.

Great story telling is key to longevity. Seems like they have the right people in place … currently
