New Comic Book Day šŸ’„

Kind of a light week today for me.

Was able to secure 1 copy of Detective #880 Lego for cover price. The only store out of three that I visited that even got any of them in. He had three and held one for me.

The only other score was Freddie the Fix #1 for cover price. These are still selling well for me when I find them for $30-$35.

Absolute Wonder Woman #13 and #14 Cover A 1st prints for $6 each. These go for $15-$20.

Good hunting everyone!

That’s why you build those relationships with your LCS!

I didn’t bother going outs. Crossing my fingers online will deliver.

I did ask my LCS last week to hold one, but said he had to order it.

Obviously that was well after FOC…but this was before it took off…not sure how that works…said they were showing as still available at the time…but I also know nothing after FOC is guaranteed.

My LCS didn’t order the Lego 'Tec. Womp womp.

My lcs didn’t order any either. Three shops total in my area and zero were ordered.

Shoot I forgot to look for those.

Ouch…bought 5 of the Spears Graveyard Shift bling bags & got the same blind bag base cover in all of them. Sheesh

Yep, there have been reports of this all over Facebook…

It happened in my LCS. Guy opened 5 packs. All same cover. Different cards. There are only 8 covers. Regular cover and then the ratios start at 1:50 variant for the blind bag covers. Chances of getting any of the ratio covers is very limited.

I’m curious if they are still putting the print count inside the back cover? If anyone has one can they check? I have to imagine the numbers are down from the first couple blind bags.

Yeah… completely my fail for not reading the fine print but damn…I didn’t even think that would be a thing. It’s more of a willy wonka chocolate bar deal than a blind bag.
I’m officially the sucker born every minute.
Well, I’ll never buy another Spears book and that was a trash move. I’m sure folks grabbing them off the rack aren’t reading the fine print either.

My shops confirmed they didn’t order any Lego variants. There seemed to be no interest, and then, yeah.

I guess a year goes by and they forget how to randomize books again…

What is this fine print you’re all talking about?

I bought one cover from third eye packaged with some other books. My LCS usually sets aside a spears book even though I don’t have it on my pull and I feel obligated to but it since I don’t buy much from them anymore…

Boggle’s my mind shops would not order one copy. Do they order every other variant of the most lame comics? Not buying it if they do.

I know my shop just doesn’t order variants at all. So if they said they didn’t I would believe them.

I wouldn’t say it’s fine print however the back of the bag is confusing saying eight covers plus variants, but it actually said there are eight covers total with a majority of them being the regular cover the rest being variants but in very small quantities 1:50, 1:1000 and so fourth. I think people are shocked that it’s the cards that are mostly different.

Shops I frequent will order A covers of stuff and some variants. It was a facsimile (so not a ton of interest) and a variant for a facsimile, with Legos. Some shops still have LEGO variants from before hanging around, so I understand it. One shop I visit (which orders a lot of stuff, generally) did order some, but they were gone FAST.

Yep …so unless you are lucky enough to pull a 1:50 (at the minimum) you’ll be getting the same for every single one?
Hell, all my cards were even the same but one.
Heck, at least toss in a 1:10 or 1:25 for a somewhat decent chance.

Eight unique Body Bag Exclusive covers are available to collect, each featuring original artwork and available only through the Graveyard Shift Body Bag. None of these covers are available as standard open-order editions. Body Bag Exclusive Cover H Secret Exclusive Cover (1:50) Cover I Foil Exclusive Cover (1:100) Cover J Glow-in-the-Dark Exclusive Cover (1:200) Cover K Secret Exclusive Cover (1:500) Cover L Signed Chrome Signature Exclusive Cover (1:1,000) Cover M Signed Gold Signature Exclusive Cover (1:5,000) Cover N Hand-Signed & Sketched Exclusive Cover (1:20,000) Cover O Rare covers are randomly inserted throughout the print run at the stated ratios.

This is the listing description. It says 8 covers, then lists off covers H through O, with all but H having a ratio.

Commas or a bulletized list would have helped.

I deal with this at work too…the younger generation has no idea how to present anything in a readable format. They fill a slide with texts with horrible punctuation and no line break…basically walls of text.

I usually hand it back and say ā€œthis hurts my eyesā€¦ā€

I remember seeing him on his gatekeepers /handlers show and dont remember his saying only 1 common cover
but even then not sure if he even he knew exactly he was doing …and that was right before foc

A-G are either regular covers or ratio variants. Then ā€œeight exclusive covers only available in the bagsā€ then listing out the ratio-in-bag covers makes it sound like 8 covers plus ratios not 8 covers including ratios.
