Pot calling the kettle black, perhaps?
Perhaps
Bry must not have any copies to sell.
I mean, it’s a bold strategy, Cotton—to quote a beloved movie. Claim something is going to get hot every week and if it fails to get hot remove it from your list. That way, the things that do get hot make it look like you only discussed the best books. Then, if something happens to get hot that you did not randomly name when you were spot lighting 90% of the books, then you claim fraud.
For the record, I have never removed any book off my picks of the week. They are all there for integrity purposes.
You never know what could flop but then heat up years later. That way you can claim you were just playing the long game as well! Plus, you know honesty is the best policy.
I also like the failure leads to success model as well. We’re not gonna hit every spec or hot book, and the failed spec’s just help us learn for future ones when picking them out.
I was talking about this book yesterday at the comic shop.
And not here? I thought we were family? At least that’s what @davidbitterbaum led me to believe…
Some great choreography there…
Remember Red Panther? I was going through a dead spec long box today and found two copies of that gem. White Panther was also a quick fad. No more panther spec for me.
Femi is literally a kid. Nothi mg exciting yet.
Nothing exciting yet? You’re just trying to trick us into not buying copies while you scoop them up! BUY! BUY! Then sit on the stacks for years and curse Tosin/Femi/etc. under our breaths!
Are they really naming a male character…Femi? Whats next a female villain named…Manley? Marvel knows no bounds…SMH…
I understand it is not spelled Femme…but it sure is how it reads…
I know a Femi, from Nigeria not Wakanda. It is an actual African name.
Yup…
Femi is a popular African name, primarily of Yoruba origin from Nigeria, often a short form of names like Olufemi, meaning “God loves me” or “The Lord loves me”. It can also stand alone, meaning “love me ,” and is used for both males and females, though often masculine, representing deep faith and affection, and is popular in West Africa and the diaspora.
I’d say this is keeping it real, kudos to Marvel, it could have just been another Steve or John… ![]()
