It was told too many unpaid invoices. They told me had at least 3 invoices over 1k each. I feel bad because I was promoting them all over. Hope people I told didnt stiff him.
I’m pretty sure Beeda’s has been having problems with people preordering and then not paying which is why they are stopping their current program. They asked people to start prepaying for ratios a few weeks ago because of it. I’ve been 100% satisfied since signing up with them.
I got an email from them saying I can still use their pullbox. There are some changes:
- Max discount of 30%
- All weekly books must be paid for prior to the following week’s FOC.
- All ratios and corresponding books must be paid for in advance
- There are new ratio limits in place per title:
- (6) 1:5
- (3) 1:10
- (3) 1:15
- (2) 1:25
- (1) 1:50 or higher. If there’s a 1:500 you can get the standard multiple ratios below, however you can only qualify for one 1:500.
I put the orders for fcbd but never got invoiced for them. I also ordered some off Lucas from drunken chat and got invoiced for it and paid so dunno

If this were the reason, then requiring prepayment of orders would have solved it, no?
I saw the system they had and liked it, but I didn’t want to get stuck with a bunch of orders and then the speculation go south, and then someone doesn’t pay. Last thing you want as a retailer is to think cash is coming in, and then a massive amount of people don’t pay and in one week to the next, you can be screwed. I really feel for them as I like the Pullbox program, but that’s a definite flaw in it depending on what payment system you use.
Pullbox still needs some fine tuning, but so far, seems to be working out for most people…but I don’t do the ratio thing like them. I’m still wondering how its going to work wit PRH…I hope they integrate it like they have with Diamond…otherwise it might start becoming a pain in the rear.
Yeah I got the same email. Idc if I gotta pay. Was the same with Unknowncomics paying upfront and %30off Beedas just better shipping speed.
He also mentioned that besides the ratio problem he was having people not pay weekly invoices on time. Some would ask to pay the following week yet still make more FOC orders for future weeks. I can see where that would be an issue.
Yeah could potentially snowball very quickly and a retailer could be stuck with a bunch of books they can’t move.
It’s not good for a shop to sale preorder ratios unless they have 5 or more stores or a huge online presence. I’ve seen dozens of stores make this mistake and disappear offline after a few months to a year.
It’s the American way… buy now, pay later. It’s why we got so many people in debt…
It seems if you have at least some good history with Beeda’s they will keep you on as a customer. I’ve had no problems with them. Yes they have made mistakes with the discounts but have always responded favorably and quickly. I don’t utilize the ratio offer much but I love that I have that option. The FOC ordering at a discount is also a big benefit. I don’ blame Beeda’s for their move, but perhaps they could have approached it better? I don’t know.
I also got a notice from MCS saying they are now doing away with flat shipping. Kinda sucks but I don’t blame them. I’ve had no problems with MCS either.
Yeah Beedas hit the bumps and readjusting. Yeah the email def was sent to those they felt were in good standings.
2000 AD Shop gets a rating.
Books were shipped in a poly bag with no protection. They are somewhere between a 8.5-9.2 grade, but I think they can be pressed to a 9.2-9.4 grade. Shipping took months, but that doesn’t matter to me. So, I consider myself somewhat lucky that the books aren’t in worse condition.
Ugh. I’m still waiting on mine… shipping has been forever and they just say dispatched. Might as well been tied to a carrier pigeon
Received my 2nd/3rd order from VillainGaming and everything arrived in mint shape. Diamond box filled with styrofoam peanuts and taped. I also had an issue with an incentive variant showing up damaged. Jason sent a replacement out right away with my next order. A+ experience so far with my orders!
