Online Comic Store Report Card

Oh I agree but reassurances that future packaging would be better or that it was a mistake would’ve saved me as a future customer. I appreciate that they took care of it but not explaining the bad packaging lost me as a customer.

Spending time on explanation that leads to same outcome probably not their goal… now, if you gave them a second chance and bought again, for it to happen again, that’s when they should address it or take note, say they’re going to fix the package packer… etc etc…

I do admit, sometimes an apology is all that’s needed the first go round. My wife wants to sit and dissect when I’ve already apologized if I’ve done something wrong, which means it’ll never happen again. If it does, then she can badger me about it… but for me, an apology is all that’s needed at times.

I’ll give MCS credit, they could have jacked up the price (and have) on Batgirl and Last Ronin, but didn’t on these…thumbs up!

Sorry, but what book are you referring to where they didn’t jack the price up? I may be misunderstanding your statement…

Wow though, they did jack up the last ronin to $12 at MCS - I see that now. That was quick. Snagged a copy before the price hike hopefully it makes it into my order.

You too huh?

Yup, even things from like 10 years ago that have never happened again after the first apology… according to her, they’re still not “resolved”… whatever that means…

Weird, I got both Batgirl and Last Ronin for cover at MCS…I guess I didn’t see where they increased prices later. 🤷

I misread your post - so when the books first dropped they were at cover - I was able to get a copy of each. They then sold out, and then they at the very least, restocked cover A of TL Ronin for $12, but looks like it sold out again.

Is it common for MCS to raise prices of things before street release? I know Midtown has been doing it more often lately if things heat up but I can’t recall seeing Midtown do it before until after issues are in stock.

I can’t speak to how common this practice is at MCS.

They didn’t raise the price on Darth Vader #6 until maybe the day after release? I was able to pick up some copies for cover on release day.

This is the first time that I witnessed the price hike first hand though, where they initially post a book for cover and then hike up the price + repost within an hour if not sooner, and all a day before the actual release date.

Yes, as of the past year they have been doing it. Don’t go and get any ideas now

Off the top of my head, I know they did it for Hell Arisen 3, Captain Marvel 8, Federici Death Metal 3, and Spawn 309 Gunslinger. These were never offered for cover…

Haha, no worries. We’re pretty committed to the fact that we don’t raise prices once something is on sale. And that we keep ratio prices the same regardless of whether or not it’s something like a Momoko cover that’s suddenly hot on eBay. There was one comic we found a small box of in the back of a warehouse shelf last year that was older and that we put on the site for about 1/4 of eBay price, and you’d think we murdered someone with how many complaints we got :stuck_out_tongue:

I ordered a copy of, "Black, "#1 from @PCKComics website, and used the 10% coupon. They lowered the price to $14.99 and I had the coupon so that was below the asking price online at many sites currently and allowed me to get an issue to hold onto after having sold some of the ones I had when the announcement was made (it’s good to have at least one for when the movie hopefully gets made or at least a trailer comes out).

The comic was packed in a Gemini mailer and taped-up well with, “Fragile,” written on it. The comic was wrapped-up pretty securely and had no damage or nasty nicks. I am pleased and will use PCKComics again in the future!

So did I, buy had to pay separate shipping as they come online at different times and one sells out before the other goes live…

Despite really slow fulfillment, TFAW’s good continues to outweigh their bad. You need patience, as I usually am getting books 3 weeks after they released. But, yesterday’s order had 10 books in a gemini. The gemini took some damage, but the books were all solid. By my hugely unofficial grading system, 5 were 9.8, 4 were 9.6, and 1 was 9.4. That seems about as good as you can ask for from an online order.

Just noticed this on my preorders through DCBS where I had 6 copies of Venom #27 3rd print ordered! Venom #27 3Rd PTG Var

Shortage by Diamond not replaced 6
So it looks like I missed out completely on this issue as I thought I would recieve them but didn’t get a single copy. Very irritating:causing annoyance, impatience, or mild anger.! That’s a good definition for it as they are getting worse since doing the DC distributing duties. Just a little rant!

My venom #27 3rd print were also canceled by DCBS. Arrrg.

Yeah, DCBS shorted me on this issue as well. I think this is the first time ever, though.

It’s okay… Codex seems like he might not be around for long anyways… Muhahahahahahaha !!!
