I have been fairly well satisfied with the service I get from DCBS with usually great packing and shipping and only an occasional few damaged copies. I just hope they don’t overextend themselves with the added responsibilities from DC and start taking too many shortcuts to get the books out to everyone and their quality takes a drop from that.
Anybody ever order posters from DCBS? I want that 55 cover but was worried about the shipping process.
I’m concerned about this, too. There was a report that Midtown had been handling up to 75% of the DC output. If that’s true, than DCBS/Lunar is in for a world of hurt.
Anyone Comics
A++ for the artwork On the envelope.
D- on the (lack of) reinforcement inside the envelope.
Comics arrived ok…it’s not NM but wasnt advertised as such. Likely had defects prior to shipping.
Got my second big order ($225+) from TFAW today. Honestly, books look great and everything was packed nicely in the big box. Could not be more pleased, TY!
I’ve done doodles on packages before… almost every time it’s gotten me a positive remark on my eBay feedback… along with my awesome packaging job… because…
I’m the best… around… nothings ever gonna keep me down…
Cause I’m the best… around… nothing’s ever gonna keep me down…
Pack it till the end 'cause your item sold will depend
On the strength that you keep on your tape roll
Ah you gotta be proud, staring out in the feedback cloud
When the odds in the packing game defy you
Try your best to win them all
And one day time will tell
When you’re the one that’s standing there
You’ll reach the highest ratings do tell…
I’m the best… around… nothings ever gonna keep me down…
Cause I’m the best… around… nothing’s ever gonna keep me down…
I thought you were going to go with “I’m the best at what I do, and what I do best isn’t very nice…”
Nope, I was sticking with "nothings ever gonna keep me down… " where nothings is really you @D-Rog and you’re hatred of me using USPS packing boxes to secure my comics… You can’t keep me down, cause I’m the best… around…
You’re the reason why when I went into my Post office on Monday looking for a box to actually ship something priority mail In they had nothing…BOOOOOO!!!
You can ask them at the counter…
I did. Didn’t have any.
Not in the large size I needed anyway.
You can have them deliver it then…
I needed it Monday.
Should have planned ahead then.
You can order all those flat rate boxes online free and have them shipped to you free of charge. No need to even go to the post office until mailing.
Also using priority or other packaging for other uses is not kosher with the postal service. You using their Priority boxes as reinforcement inside a Media Mail package containing comics which aren’t allowed in Media Mail seems to be pressing your luck, no?
Just saying that broadcasting online what you’re doing could potentially cause some problems. I mean with some of the hate mail you’ve talked about and some people apparently not liking you for no reason. I wouldn’t put it beyond some jack@ss to try and cause you problems with the postal service. Not the band. The USPS.
That’s what I do.
I did that a while back with Rate A and B boxes As most post offices don’t carry those. You have to order them in bulk of 5…I still have some. They take up space and I already have too many other supplies for comics. I just wanted a standard size they normally carry.
I have been very happy using Dark Phoenix Comics for FOC orders. The books come shipped VERY well. I’ve not had one damaged book in shipping from them yet. Plus they have the option of using Sezzle which comes in handy since can split the payment into four payments instead of all at once. Helps out on a big week. They’ve also been really good with communication as well if contacted.
Using it for other uses related to MAIL isn’t kosher. I will say that in college, our town’s local mail people were really impressed and wanted to take photos with the priority box fort we made because we would rather do stupid things than go to class or study one week.
I haven’t sold stuff personally online in a while (I used to flip stuff from Goodwills and sell MTG cards ands tuff online while working my previous jobs), but I still have the habit of keeping at least 5 of each size of the priority packaging in my mail supplies just in case I need it to ship something and can’t wait for them to deliver it or they’re out at the local PO.
TFAW package arrived today. Gemini-type mailer - 12 books. Books wrapped in paper so I thought I was good, but the stack must’ve had room to wiggle because 8/12 books have varying degrees of damage due to one corner of the stack being impacted… Corner crunch. Not trying to fault TFAW entirely here - package was travelling coast to coast and I can only imagine how it was manhandled throughout the journey - the only way books aren’t getting damaged is if they are fully secure with zero ability to move around within the package on the journey and this just obviously wasn’t the case.
Anyways - that’s it for me. Can’t keep burning money on books that show up in this condition. Stuck with the pre orders that I currently have locked in post FOC but no more new ones for me.
