I still haven’t gotten my Black And White Spawn Tribute covers from TFAW
TFAW, Westfield, and Midtown each have their faults and have let me down one way or another in the past. That’s not to say they’re irredeemable, nor is it to say I’d never order from them again. I’m just on the search for an online shop that is consistently excellent for pre-dales/FOC orders/new release sales. FWIW, UnknownComics is the only online presence that has yet to let me down–although they really don’t sell weekly new releases.
And so the search continues for one shop that does it all.

I will agree that Unknown is pretty good on mailing books and not cancelling orders.
I have yet yo have an order fulfilled by Unknown. Lol.

Yeah Playsanity is a no go from me anymore. Ordered copies of X-force A/B 2 copies each before release. Totally forgot about the order until I looked on shopify emailed them 3 separate times no response so I found him on facebook.
so he got shorted and waited to tell me until I reached out? Bad business and sounds fishy since he is in the CBSI group about flipping books. They get a no recommendation from me.
These pop-up online stores are just speculators. They arent in the business to fulfill HOT books.

May I ask what Dark Side you used, @ecliptic? I know many stores use that name and would highly recommend the Saint Louis one, although it has a limited web presence for comics. I just want to make sure it wasn’t the STL Dark Side that did you dirty. Otherwise, you have a great list!
That is not my personal list… I read through this whole thread and took a tally of the positive and negative reviews. That list is a summary of everything posted to date being as fair as I could make it.
The negative Dark Side review is around post 89 / 90 if you want to see it.
I ordered 3 copies of the Marvels Civil War Snapshots Kelley variant from Westfield late Monday technically after The FOC window…cancelled.
I ordered 2 copies of Batgirl 50 cover A from Midtown when they still had 25+ copies in stock (no limits)…they told me it was limit 1 several days after my order and removed a copy.
Both refunded me in full…but my point is they all seem to be having issues with what they advertise as being “available” on their websites.
Westfield did have a disclaimer that it was after FOC and the order was not guaranteed to be in stock…but figured it a was merely hours after FOC was closed so good chance They could still honor the order. But apparently not in this instance. I still like Westfield.

I only ordered from black cape because they were the only one that still had copies. I normally use my LCS first then TFAW, then MCS, then midtown, and finally whoever else shows it in stock.

This is great, appreciate the summary.
They likely take what is most heavily pre-ordered to determine what books will be hot. Short the customers and flip the rest… Sadly, it’s both a great idea and immoral if you ask me if that’s how you plan to run your business… cough, speculation flipping… cough…

But that gives them a huge competitive advantage over us average flippers who have to go get our books.
Hence why I said it’s both a great idea and immoral… Like @monopolyjackson stated, most of these online shops popping up left and right are just speculators with diamond accounts now. You of all people know how easy it is to setup shop online… I could build an online store in a matter of hours (the longest part is coming up with a nifty logo) if I really wanted to.
