Looks like they truly do not care about your business at all.
Damn that’s crazy. Yeah I’m sorry this feels extra personal.
Well I’m new here just recently moved and I guess I’ll try that along with a dry box for packages.
Question about TFAW preorders: I often times see books that are still before FOC at 20% off instead of 30%. The pre-orders page says all books pre-FOC are 30%. Does “all” really mean “most”?
Daredevil 25 2nd print, for example. FOC is a week away, but it’s 20% off.
It SHOULD be 30% off, but sometimes there are small bugs on our site. It may be there’s a bug from the way some records are made that copies post-FOC discounts if a record is cloned for a 2nd print or something. I’ll have to ask devs to take a look.
But the only actual rule where something SHOULDN’T be 30% off pre-FOC for comics is if it’s a Dynamic Forces/signed/CGC/etc. type comic, or if it’s a Bad Idea comic. (For Bad Idea we only give them our regular in-stock and store pre-order discount so that it’s more fair to smaller brick and mortar stores that carry it given the whole approach for them is to get people to comic shops.)
Same I wondered that too… the Pre FOC %20 a week away but books 2 weeks out are %30.
Figured out what the issue was. If the price isn’t updated in your pre orders since it’s still pre-FOC you can remove/re-add copies.
Update on Unknown. Got an email that said:
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out. Our orders are usually shipped within 3-10 business days from the last street date of the latest book in your order. Orders that were placed during Promotional sales may take longer to process (4-6 weeks). Once a shipping label has been printed USPS automatically places the status as “pre-shipment.” It takes a while after that for our workers to pull the books together for the order. We worked on a lot of sale orders at the warehouse on Saturday so your order may be waiting to be packed. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
It’s been 15 days since the printed the label. Why would they print a label before they even pulled the books. Especially since they said it could take 4-6 weeks for them to ship the books. My understanding from USPS is the labels are only good for 30 days. I just do not understand their business model and am honestly tired of messing with them. Three chances so far.
This is actually heavily frowned upon by the USPS. I have actually seen USPS refuse to send a package and return it to sender for this. Apparently, my parents waiting 3 days after printing the label to send me a Bday present was a problem for the post office. I have also seen ebay sellers do it to pretend they ship things on time.
Q. What if I print a label and don’t use it on the ship date I selected? A. In these cases, it would be best to use your label on the next available shipping date. When creating an online label, you are responsible for providing accurate information when selecting the day of mailing. An electronic record is generated on the ship date indicating that your package has been mailed and the Postal Service is expecting to see your package that day.
Yup…
Ask for a gift card from a shop that actually has service and ships books. How do you print up a label before knowing what the package weighs? Just your horror stories is enough for me to avoid them.
I got a large order in from TFAW. 2 big boxes of comics. They were packaged professionally with care. Smaller stacks with rotating spines so there was none of the curvature like the last few shipments. Bubble wrap was on all 4 sides of the comics and I could easily lift the smaller stacks of comics out of the boxes without them falling out all over the floor. All comics look to be minty fresh and I have no complaints about this shipment. Give my regards to whoever packed this order. They did a great job.
Small, three comic order arrived today from TFAW. The envelope held up just fine and everything arrived in perfect shape.
Big 20-30 order from TFAW arrived today. Books were bubble wrapped and placed in a box with packing peanuts all around it. Wrapped with the tiny paper thing in 2 stacks, but we’re stacked on top of each other anyways and they did alternate the covers to mitigate spine damage. Books all came in great shape, but they sent me a normal cover A instead of the 1:10 incentive cover for Scarenthood - will have to contact them about that. Thankfully it was that book and I got the rest of the incentives that were in my order.
TFAW was able to replace only 5 of the 11 books that arrived damaged over my past couple orders. Refunded the rest. But, the 5 replacements arrived with a larger bag around the books in a gemini, and all were in great condition. Seems like the trendline for shipping quality for TFAW is pointing up based on the last few posts.
Got my midtown 75% off order today. Boxes shipped wrapped in a midtown paper bag and bubble wrap. They all made it in minty fresh 9.8 shape.
Got two orders today. First from Hotshot Comics. Second from www.comicblend.com. Both were very well packed and all books are in great condition. Love getting books in Mylar bags (comicblend).
A+ on both.
Ugh Unknown update. Status is unknown. Label printed on 11/24. They didn’t ship until 12/8 that’s 14 days after they printed the label on top of 20 days to ship in stock items. Checked the tracking and it was picked up in Amarillo Texas and is still sitting in Amarillo Texas. Wanna bet if these get here before Christmas? Ironically tracking originally said they would be here today. Nah. Still at the same post office in Texas.
