Online Comic Store Report Card

My favorite local shop has an owner who is happy to just get stuff sold. He prices it to move and wants to not have a ton of comic-stock stuck in back-issue bins. Buy all the issues of something, he is happy to have a sale! At various points in the year, he runs big sales to clear out old stuff. He has told me comics take-up the most space for bringing in the least money compared to the trading card games and miniatures his store also stocks.

Does Midtown ship everybody’s comics in a flat rate envelope? Or just shipments to Canada?

Very little protection really. Bagged and boarded but all the comics had gravitated to the edge of their comic boards so a hit from the side would damage the comic.

Also, what causes these semi-circles on the covers of comics and how much do they affect the grade of the comic? I received 4 of these and all of them had 2 semi-circles each, 1 at bottom right of cover and one at top right of cover.

That’s where they set their beer cans down

I finally got my 1st two orders from Westfield. The books do not have bags or boards and are placed in a large plastic bag and taped and wrapped with bubble wrap. (50) star war adventures #1 books all near perfect. the second box another 20 books also boarder line 9.8. How is it possible these books come in such great condition without bags while orders from tfaw and midtown which are bagged and boarded routinely get nicked up.

Got my TNMT #113’s from TFAW in the mail today. Package took one major corner ding, One backing board got blunt of the force, looks like only one got dinged though, smh.

Slammed them down during their nightly poker games in the warehouse…

Dont blame TFAW.
Lots of damages happen because of USPS handling…

I even blame them when I stub my toe at home… on a Sunday…

So you know how Comix Zone doesn’t want to sell to speculators? Well check out their new eBay listing… I ordered two of these which they cancelled citing out of stock and they just so happen to find two copies to list on eBay lol.

I replied to their cancellation email with the link too…

I would love to hear what they have to say. I doubt they will people rarely defend themselves when called out. Also let them know you have shared it all over social media and here. That’s always fun.

Oh I would too cause no matter what they say, they’re gonna sound like a bunch of asses.

Honestly in this scenario, I’d just want them to tell the truth. “We canceled cause we saw how much thyey were going for and wanted to make more money off of them.”

I’d rather them just be honest than lie to your face of what’s blatantly obvious. So no matter what they say, it’s just being an ass for cancelling the order so they can increase their profit margin.

I don’t expect another response from them, but here’s the little back n forth:

My reply to their cancellation email (which is posted above):

Weird how this popped up…

Hello-

Please read our site terms, in the link from the cancellation email provided below.

Thanx!

My reply:

Hi, I did read your terms, but couldn’t find where it said Comix Zone has the right to cancel paid orders, lie about the reason, and then post the comics from the cancelled order on eBay at 10x the price. Can you please send me the terms with that part highlighted?

Switched back to DHL from FedEx for my next TFAW shipment. Fingers crossed. :see_no_evil:

First time using unknown, I wouldn’t have used them but saw they had this 1:10 for $6 so I bought it, and was pleasantly surprised, shipping was fast and it came packaged well in a Gemini with bubble wrap. Book is in high grade condition and I have no complains https://imgur.com/a/jcBZQFJ

Yup soon as seen the book on their site I bought 2.

It seems half the people here have luck with Unknown, the other half get screwed-over badly. Odd.

I was thinking don’t tell them you know @Anthony they’ll never ship you anything. I don’t think he’s ever received an order.

@ToddW yes please do not mention me or you will never get your orders.

I recently also switched over to unknown comics, The main reason is the free bags and boards, free shipping and no tax. I save about a $70 buck a month, which i use to buy more books.

The only problem is i haven’t received one book yet. Hopefully, they come soon. I have three orders outstanding.
