Online Comic Store Report Card

You gotta order all the books released the same week and hope they don’t get pushed back. They will hold the order up for 1 book. And I agree the free shipping and bags & boards save you about $70 where other sites charge you. Unknowncomics is just slow to deliver.

Say what you will but tfaw listens. Just got an order that was bounced around because my local post office decided to send it four states away just because (no fault of TFAW’s). Some really pricey variants in there. Box came today.

Inside the pricey variants were bubble wrapped separately. The rest of the stuff was wrapped in paper with spines opposite from each other and wrapped in paper.

Then there was a layer of packing peanuts you could choke a horse with keeping them all safe. Box was beat up but everything in the inside was clean.

I got my 20 High Republic Adventures #1 from Westfield. I have to say, 13 of them are 9.8 contenders. The other 7 have some marks on the back. Looking like some sort of smudges. There are 3 of them that have a small indention the size of a pencil tip in them.

To be honest, I’m still happy. Paid $27 all in and got 13 solid books.

My 1st order from unknown comics, 26 comics. Alternating spine, and wrapped in a bag and wrapped in bubble and in a box with peanuts. Great Packing. Every single book was in perfect condition and it looks like unknown comics does not cherry pick the best copies. These are probably the highest quality books i have received from any online comic seller. Very pleasant surprise and best of all free bags and board, free shipping and no tax. I am going to give them more of a try for orders over a 100 books.

Recent unknowncomics order… the usual bubble wrapped alternating spines inside box with packing peanuts etc. Books are minty as hell no damage no spine ticks.

Yeah I missed that entire run of comics I’ve been back tracking grabbing whatever I see cheap. It’s crazy how hard these books are to find for cheap.

Got new order from TFAW via DHL/USPS.

Bunch of star wars stuff, ASM 55 1:50, plenty other books - maybe 15-20 total.

Books arrived in excellent shape. Only complaint is to Marvel for the ink that they used and that wretched ink rub.

TFAW win.

I’m waiting on a 96book Tfaw order to arrive. Lots of ratios 1:10s, 1:25s and 1:50s and a bunch of hot books lol. Praying they all arrive in great shape.

oooh, I’m waiting on a TFAW order to arrive too. An order from Canada that I placed 2 days after my TFAW order went into processing has arrived though.

TFAW on a major slowdown the past 2 weeks. Last weeks order is still processing and has not shipped yet.

Two weeks ago we had a late shipment because of storms in the mountains causing our Diamond delivery to be a few days late, and since Thursday last week we’ve had either skeleton crew or no crew because of the storms and icy roads/loss of power here. It’s been fun.

Stay warm and stay safe, ship comics later if you ask me… I’d rather almost you all hold them than ship them so they then get stuck in some USPS truck on the side of the road in the snow…

I was wondering why the order from February 3rd still says processing. Thanks Brendon for clarifying the situation. I’m wondering if the two weeks will be combined and shipped together.

I can tell you they will ship separately. You have to take the good with the bad on that one. :man_shrugging:t2:

I’m not trying to be a jerk here and I don’t have any hard feelings against Tfaw and order hundreds of dollars from them weekly but if Tfaw can send out a weekly newsletter telling me all the stuff I can buy they can surely send out a mass email informing their customers of shipping delays due to weather. Other shops have already done this. I had also sent a customer service request over the weekend and have heard nothing in 3-4 days so if I get charged for this $80 incentive from November of 2020 that somehow got locked in and wouldn’t let me delete I am gonna be a little upset.

I also have several books in my pre-order list that the on sale date was months ago in October, November and December and have not shipped with no option to remove them or any communication as to why they have not shipped yet. Some were added after FOC or on FOC or even before FOC. I’m not worried about much of this as I am confident they will eventually address all of my concerns but in customer service sometimes you need to be proactive instead of reactive.

The only thing that’s bugging me about my 2/3 order not shipping is a good portion of those books were to be immediate flips. If they shipped when they were supposed to I could’ve gotten good money for some but now they’ve cooled down. Then again I could’ve picked weekly shipping instead of monthly.

Except we literally can’t right now. Our servers internally have been down since Thursday/Friday when the storms started. We haven’t been able to access or send any email unless it was pre scheduled to go out ahead of time. For CS the only way they can reply right now is through online chat and occasionally the phone works a little bit.

We do have a notice on the homepage about delays due to the weather. I’m sorry if it’s causing issues for people, but no one planned for the storm to knock out power and internet to ~500,000+ people for nearly a week.
