Online Comic Store Report Card

Unknown will wait for all books to be available before they ship them. great packing and highest quality books compare to other sellers.

Thats what Anthony is saying, stuff that was in stock took forever to ship… I think it was over a month or so before it actually physically shipped.

Unknown has always shipped fast for me and packaged really well. We may dislike stores that do tons of store variants but those stores do tend to package the best.

Same here, once all the books are released in your order, unknown will send the books in a few days.

Bullet proof packing and the comics are never cherry picked.

These corners are tough. Bubble wrapped around 4 times. Inside a box with durable packing peanuts. Unknowncomics with the packaging win.

My only gripe with unknown is they use the USPS materials other they are best right now.

I’m not postal police/rule follower/ so I get why some are mad about them bending the law and breaking the rules. It’s better than the tissue paper Tfaw uses and the 1 layer of bubble wrap. Idc what you use just have my items secured properly so they come undamaged.

Yeah it’s one thing that I don’t like either. They’re using a ton of free supplies illegally and we as customers of the USPS end up paying for it. Perhaps they need to be notified of what their doing and reported to the USPS. Not like they don’t know what their doing is wrong. It’s not like they don’t sell bubble mailers of every size that Unknown could buy like the rest of us. It’s why I won’t order from them tbh.

Edit: I’ve reported their cheap asses to the USPS.

My stance is, if you sell very little and not a business, meh, not huge issue but if you run a legit business, I say buy your own mailing supplies or use the ones from USPS as they’re intended to be used.

All my packages from Unknown are sent priority so I don’t see a problem with them using priority supplies. It’s also free along with bags and boards being free along with rewards for discounts on future purchases along with being sent on time every week along with being shipped super secure with never a complaint from me. I honestly don’t even know why I order anything from Tfaw. I am 99% phasing them out. I have 10 items in my FOC queue for them this week and 4 of them are incentives I already sold and another 3 are trades they were cheapest on. Other than some incentives/exclusives and things I might miss, like for some reason I forgot to order High Republic Adventures #4 from anywhere so I just threw them in my Tfaw pre-order queue. Tfaw put up The Rise #1 for sale last week as back in stock and I have had 2 orders process since then and The Rise #1 is still sitting there in my pre-order list not shipping. Everything about Tfaw is a mess right now.

Right now, I’m in no hurry for my pre-orders from TFAW. As long as they arrive safely, that’s all I care about. I think the huge ice storms and power outages along with Diamond sucking has severely put them behind. I know it’s not a great excuse but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as a lot of it is out of their own control from what I’ve gathered.

My packages from Unknown are always sent priority anyway so they can use all the priority supplies they want if you ask me. I just went through my list of orders from them and literally everything is received within 3 days of shipping so I usually have my comics every Saturday from Unknown and at the latest Monday. Other places sometimes I don’t even have last weeks comics by the time next weeks comics release and other times I am still waiting2 weeks for an order to stop processing and actually ship while being charged again for more orders to sit and process and not ship.

Yeah I agree like I said I’m not police and not gonna snitch/tell/report on anyone doing so. It’s free supplies FOR priority which is what they use. Matter of fact just got my shopify notice a package is coming today when shipping notice was last wed.

So because you’re benefiting from them keeping costs low it’s okay that they’re stealing shipping materials from the USPS? It’s an unfair advantage over other comic shops that play by the rules. I’m okay them using them if there paying Priority postage but I’m doubtful there sending orders with hundreds of book priority for free.

Technically those priority padded flat rate envelopes are only supposed to be used and sent as priority padded flat rate envelopes. Not used as cushioning inside other mail classes even if it’s priority of some other kind.

All I’m saying is it’s why I didn’t order from them. And Yes I reported them because what they’re doing is wrong.

You’re doubtful they ship large orders priority for free yet you have no idea because you refuse to order from them because they use priority supplies inside packages to ship things priority.

52 comics in this order and it was sent priority for free. They used 2 of the paper priority envelopes to wrap 26 comics in each one

I have not seen them use any padded envelopes inside the boxes. I have only seen them use the thin paper envelopes to put the comics in and they tape that up nice and tight so there is no movement, then wrap that in bubble wrap and then wrap it again in bubble wrap and then they put that in a box with popcorn peanuts and then ship it to me via priority. This is really just bizarre to me that you reported them and you don’t even really know how they ship things.

Anyway, I have had enough of the internet for today. Thanks Todd! lol

If you ship something priority it’s okay to use the free priority supplies.

If you ship any other method it is in bad taste to use them as packaging or such.

I only use priority stuff if I’m shipping priority, that’s my ethics.

I don’t need to order from them. I’ve only sat here months watching as every unknown package has priority supplies being used and not mailed in that way. If the post office cares or not they at least know. The way that they have gone after media mail being misused doesn’t give one much hope. If those envelopes are being used they are supposed to be on the outside not the inside. I thought they were padded flat rate mailers not the paper ones though. No sense beating a dead horse. We disagree and it’s time to move onto other things.

That’s where they’re actually using the tyvek type mailers improperly. They’re now using them as packing materials, not as actual mailers as they’re designed. I think that’s where Todd is going with this.
