I never try to have a refund, at least a big one. I actually try to balance it out to almost nothing, owe nothing and get nothing, then I’m maximizing my salary and income throughout the year…

So I placed an in stock order with midtown at 3 am it’s already processed and shipped. Yet my in stock order at TFAW is still processing after 10 days? I give TFAW crap but their positives outweigh the negatives. Though it’s not far from balancing. At the least send out emails and tell people wtf is going on. The weather was months ago and it’s an in stock order so no delays with distribution.
Shipped isn’t always shipped though at Midtown… I had a package last summer that was marked as “shipped” only because they printed out a mailing label, the package sat for 2 more weeks before it actually got dropped off at the local post office to then start movement, where I got tracking updates daily.

That hasn’t been my experience with them. They’ve been on the ball recently for my orders. Fingers crossed it stays the same. Well except one order most of the bags were split or ripped. They took care of it though. They need to invest in better bags. Those things are notorious for splitting seams at the top.

The worst. Absolute trash.
If they arrive without being all bent out of shape, I end up using them to bag Marvel comics with the trash ink that rubs off easily. I then place the bagged book in another (silver age) bag w/ board.
They go straight into the trash otherwise.

TFAW sent mine out today (processing 3/31) and gave me an answer about one of my books that was removed (damaged books sent from distributor). yay!
I use Midtown bags and boards for books I sold. I tend to fit my rebagged comics into their bag and board to double up for shipping… that’s about all they’re good for. Yeah, they might be free but they’re complete junk… I’d rather pay for my bags and boards to be honest if it means I get quality ones… I don’t feel the need to swap out my TFAW orders.

Midtown also makes their own backer boards I think. I bought their brand during NYCC once and realized after I got back to the hotel they were just garbage and will likely get replaced once I’m back home.

3/31 order from tfaw just showed as shipped
Part of it is trying to deal with every shipment from Diamond for the last… 3 or 4 weeks? being late. Even this week we still haven’t gotten this week’s shipment. They’re supposed to arrive Monday morning, and we’re currently expecting it sometime Thursday. It throws off the entire warehouse because people have to adjust shifts and re-arrange schedules to deal with receiving, and then receiving Lunar and receiving Diamond run into each other instead of being simultaneous, etc. And it’s not even always Diamond’s fault. The shipment from last week that didn’t show up until this week just sat in Arkansas for several days and when we asked FedEx what was going on they just kind of shrugged and said it was delayed due to an exception.
Part of it is just getting the new staff fully trained. We have a lot of new staff in the warehouse (we split into an early shift and a late shift to have more people able to pack throughout the day) and they’re making sure people are fully trained this time since last time when we brought on more staff we had some issues with QC going out because of trying to have the learn by fire.
Hopefully now with frontline workers eligible for the vaccine in Oregon we’ll start getting some of our staff vaccinated and able to work with some people a bit closer together again safely, as well.

How nice of FedEx… can I call them bitchnuggets? Cause that’s what they are… and I’m only mad at FedEx cause as of lately, they’ve been a day late in delivering my Blue Apron… which kind of sucks since there’s food in the package and it’s really starting to get warm out there now so the big blocks of ice packs they use to keep the food cooler melt faster.
Thanks for taking the time and explaining. Sounds like diamond and fedex need to get their stuff together.
