@ein I don’t know how in the heck DCBS went downhill so hard and so fast. I used to absolutely rely on them for just about all of my comic orders and needs. I no longer order from them at all because of varied issues I’ve had in the last six months. Really a shame.
Because like Midtown, they tried taking on DC distribution likely and didn’t realize that their original primary business would suffer… without hiring double the staff more than likely. Last summer we saw Midtown normal business suffer, now look at them? Seems they’re shipping super fast nowadays…
Yep, DCBS’ stumbling started as soon as they took on the entirety of DC’s distribution.
I ponder… business like this taking on new business… if they got just enough employees to handle their current distribution and sales but then take on 3k+ to distribute for a publisher, one would think they would hire double or more of current employees to handle the new load. I wonder if they thought they could just hire a few or none and take it all on? Seems if their business starts to suffer, they didn’t handle the “employee” side of things like they should have…
If you’re not willing to hire more people to expand you business, then don’t expand such business… That’s my thoughts at least.
My high republic 1:25 variant arrived damaged from TFAW. Comic was placed on bubble wrap, not wrapped in it. I emailed photos to customer service twice this week but haven’t heard back. When I call the phone number I get a message saying mailbox full
@RipCityGamer is there another # I should call? I tried 503-652-0052.
If you do online chat during business hours you talk to them live.
Yes, online chat is best.
Man impulse creations might be one of my favorite places to order from. Ive done a few orders from them and they have the fastest shipping I’ve seen on. And they’re well packaged being put in Gemini mailers inside a priority envelope usually takes like 2 days from when I order. All the books were nice and high grade. The prices on books are pretty good as each book was $2-$4. I’ve bought the contest of champions 1 several times from them as its been on their site for $2.50 for a while now so a good place to stock up on them
Sure, but what about the people who don’t want silly BZRKR???
Buy it on the secondary market then…
I’ll be the flip side of the coin, then. I’m not impressed with Impulse Creations at all.
Ordered a couple Bad Idea books which was, in fact, a bad idea. I had to inquire after a couple weeks (they did not reach out themselves) to find out they hadn’t shipped because they were awaiting restock. Fine, but communicate. It’s been a month now with no further updates.
Impulse has always done me right on orders but I have never tried to communicate with them.
@enabler did you order multiple copies of a bad idea title instead of just one? I had 2 friends that ordered multiple tankers 1 and both had the same issue as you. Both had to email them and eventually only got one copy sent to them.
Yes. I ordered two copies of one title. There was no mention in their listing of one per person, so it was a risk on my part. However, if someone didn’t know Bad Idea’s rules, they would have had no clue from this ordering process. Then letting the order sit and sit with no follow up… meh. I contacted them after a couple weeks to check on things and the reply is sorry, it sold out because they fulfilled orders that followed the rules. Fine, but again, didn’t see the rule anywhere on their site and no effort made to reach out and say, “You can’t have two, but we can sell you one.” Still waiting for a restock, whenever that may be.
I should’ve stuck with my Big 2 blinders. Glad Impulse works well for others.
That’s exactly what happened to my friend. He emailed and they kept talking about some ‘restock’, which was never happening. After emailing them several more times they finally refunded the extra copies and sent him one of each.
TFAW - was worried since floppy envelope for their Proctor Road exclusive (ordered two). Not alternated and top left had some board crunching but luckily the books seem fine at first glance.
Frankie’s SWHR exclusive. The wait was the biggest issue, then worried there was damage since the books were loose in the Gemini. Books were fine.
I ordered the women of marvel books from him and am waiting.
Update I spoke to Kyle and then Spencer at TFAW and they’ve shipped out the books I ordered and let me keep the 6 Swamp Thing #1’s they accidentally sent. This is why I stay with TFAW. Hands down the Best Customer Service ever.
Got my monthly order from TFAW and got to say that this is the best shipment that I have gotten. All books look 9.6 or better. Thank TFAW shipping crew
