I forget if I posted here. I also do freelance writing, do my blog, and like to read nonfiction as I like learning random facts about subjects.
I do calligraphy and watercolor painting.
Just started an Etsy shop. Only a few pieces thus far but Iāll do a shameless plug:
Every year I buy silver coins for my kids. Purchased silver Pandaās right after Thanksgiving for $62 an ounce. Crazy high price. But here we are the day before Christmas and spot price is $72 an ounce. I sold a ton of scrap silver back a bunch of years ago when silver hit $50. By the way gold hit $4500 and I am sitting on a bunch of gold coins too. Investments pay off.

Sports gambling came to Missouri officially this December. Iāve dabbled in some NHL bets for fun with the bonus money some of the apps give you for signing up. Itās fun to bet $5 on the STL Blues even tho lately I lose that $5 due to them sucking.
Silver hit $79 an ounce tonight. Wish I had purchased more when it was cheaper. The coins I gave to the kids went for $62 I paid to $89 currently. Insane return in a couple of weeks.
I bought all of my silver at $13-20/ozt years ago. I think Iām around 50ozt total??
I have been purchasing silver and gold for easily 35 years. My dad would give us silver eagles for Christmas. Sold off a bunch of scrap coins about 18 years ago and have been re-amassing ever since. Crazy to think that this year it has gone from $30 an ounce to almost $80.
I might have to cut back on the amount of Silver coins I buy each year due to the new price⦠itās a little ridiculous. I donāt think itās hit this high ever except the time it went super high back in like 1980 but that was for other reasons, go search on it if you want, itās interesting. Then of course it hit pretty high about 15 years agoā¦
I donāt think it eclipsed $50/ozt both times.
Yeah, went and looked up as I forgot exact prices but it hit $49.95 in 1980 which was driven by the Hunt Brothers attempting to corner the market.
And then $49.80 in 2011 from inflation fears post 2008 recession crap (at least how they classified the jump).
Weāre likely seeing the same thing now, just new highs. Itāll tumble a bit like always⦠history always repeats itself (for the most part).
I just canāt let go of mine though (well, stuff Iāve bought in past 15 years I could if truly necessary), itās the one thing Iāll likely never sell. My dad collected coins, I inherited his as we collected together and I was the only kid who showed any interest in it (also my dad knew the other kids would have just gone off and sold it immediately cause well, theyāre broke and never have any money).
But it is nice seeing my collection explode in value. I should do another evaluation cause the last time I did that was when it was like $15 an ounce I think.
I donāt think all the Hunt Brothers silver has ever been found. They were burying it in the desert outside Vegas.

Sounds like Amazing Fantasy #15 was a better investmentā¦how much was a mid grade copy selling for on 1980?
I donāt have an overstreet from that year (Iāve been looking for Volumes pre-1990 lately) but Comic Values Monthly had a NM copy as $2800 in 1986.
Itās like the absolute Batman of the futures marketā¦
well and commodities. I can cash in a lot of silver if I wasnāt holding. I think it is going to continue to rise. Already up $40 an ounce since I bought at thanksgiving
Iām silver rich now too⦠holy crap⦠I never thought Iād see Silver go over $50 in my lifetime either. If it keeps going up, I might just have to sell at one point and tell the kids sorry, Dad wants to retire even earlier⦠![]()
Move it now into Absolute Batman stockā¦
Are these sterling silver forks, spoons, and knives my Bubbie left to me worth anything, now? Theyāve been collecting dust in the drawers.
