It’s obviously not a secret, but they won’t let normal users see it. That happens with incentives unless you have the code. It’s probably Diamond being incompetent. I only found out about it because of your FOC picks.
And that’s why I do FOC picks…
Sounds like Matt has lost his scruples and has taken his sheep and created a nice Ponzi type scheme for himself.
Have you guys done an article on this on the main site? You definitely should and reach out to other legit spec sites and take them down!!
And i sincerely appreciate and look forward to them every week! Thank you for keeping it up!
Yeah, I was thinking the same…or bring up questions about ethics and collecting in general. Get a discussion started.
It’s not normally our style to call people out. Something to think about though.
On main site agreed. I have no issues here on forum as its a more casual environment for anyone to post.
I wish you would. Some people were questioning the Venom spec I showed up there needless to say someone said they were in stock at Diamond and now suddenly they have all been bought up. Does not pass the sniff test to me. I have a feeling that I will be seeing them for sale from some stores coming up.
Does this happen all the time? Have y’all seen this kind of thing before? Is this what comic speculation is all about?
This was in reference to people commenting about the Venom 2nd print.
Don’t think if it as only calling them out but helping fellow collectors to not be swindled by these pos. If anything will ruin the hobby it’s these types of activities. Especially as obvious as this one is.
I am sorry my friend. I didn’t mean to sound like a whiner. That was not my intention. What I meant is how frequently does this happen where groups buy up cheap books, start talking about it to drive up prices, and then start selling to their own groups? I read a post on hear a while back about a pump and dump on another second print variant, Symbiote Spiderman 4 and how it got out of hand.
It doesn’t happen all the time, @PumperDumper, but it does rear it’s ugly head from time to time. As with all things money, the worst of the worst will always show their faces occasionally. Matt Page seems to have done just that in these instances. Matt Page is quickly earning a reputation as a scammer, and he seems intent on making clear that he has unscrupulous intentions. Keep spreading how you feel, @PumperDumper, and eventually people may catch on. Matt Page will have to change his tune if it does. Unfortunately, there will always be sheep to be shepherded by folks like Matt Page.
People who aren’t open to a civil dialogue about their speculation are clearly pumping and dumping with a hidden, ulterior motive. They don’t want to discuss their ‘speculation’ in order to keep the ulterior motive (take your money based on bad spec and market manipulation) hidden. Matt Page has an alternative agenda (taking as much of your money as possible) if he simply plugs his ears in regards to questioning, as Matt put it, the ‘potential’ of his pumped and dumped books.
From what I’ve seen in this thread, Matt Page is a carnival barking, snake oil salesmen. I wouldn’t listen to a word he says or give him a penny of my money. Matt Page and anything associated with him is pure scammy garbage. Matt Pages ‘speculation’, if you can even call it that, is amateurish and self indulgent at the expense of his sheep. M2c.
I originally joined up with his page because he seemed like a nice guy, he is a dad, claims to be a man of god.
Then it moved to you had to pay for “speculation in advance” spoilers from a U.K. retailer, and “where to buy hot books” on his Patreon site. He started really pushing so i paid for a month.
I started getting suspicious when he started doing mystery box raffles on his Facebook page. And then stuff that was “insider group only” stuff would only leak out to the main page only if one of the retailers around him was selling the books.
Now suddenly he is a retailer selling the same books he is telling his group to buy. It’s been two books now that “suddenly sold out on diamond” both reprints, that he has promoted on his Facebook group.
I don’t see any of that nonsense going on here and figure this will be my home for now on.
@PumperDumper yeah…that guy sounds like a clown. This is a great place. People like him that think they have some sort of inside pull/insight/cloud, etc crack me the hell up.
I’ll give you an example…I knew about that Ravencroft Carnage very early on. I ordered 2 copies off of Ebay long before it ever hit Key collector and I didn’t get the tip from the site you are talking about. I’m not saying I have some special insight either…it’s just that we live in an awful big world and news spreads very fast. I paid $4.99 a copy…I don’t know if you read my other post about that book…but what is really funny is that it has printing defects. The majority of that book that I’ve seen has it. These folks that “preordered it” and are still waiting on them…may be very disappointed and it may be funny to watch these big sellers of that book scramble on ebay returns.
Everyone here is great. Everyone here has good tips and seems to have good insight. Here’s my fancy, no frills, I won’t charge you Devildog spec. I recommend buying the McFarlane Cover C of Spawn 308. My crystal ball says it will be big!
Unfortunately, people like this Page fellow show up from time to time. Only thing to hope for is he and his group get exposed for what they are and the masses of collectors out there get wind of it all. He does seem like the snake oil salesmen type. The fact he doesn’t allow any dissenting comments and bans anyone who dares question him just shows me he is up to no good for his own profit.
Thank you for that. I have always liked Spawn and that was what caught my eye years ago to get into comics. I have a very nice collection of Spawn, including some of the pricier books.
I think you mean cover A of Spawn 308…which I prordered heavy on
Yes…sorry bout that! Def cover A. Thanks @monopolyjackson
@PumperDumper
Imo…this is a cover to get. Todd released this very late & as I recall after FOC.
@monopolyjackson Am I correct with that (after FOC) as I know it was close & Todd was still working on it?
I think this will pan out similar to Spawn #306 (Todd Gunslinger cover). Almost the same circumstances.
