Got two from them seperate orders different addresees
paying 75 for a 1:25 pre release, you all need to cut back on the meth
Some aren’t in it for the flip or spec though… they are selling comics for the love of comics. I applaud any shop who doesn’t fall prey to the hype and prey on people with FOMO to make the quick buck.
If I was a retailer, all new releases would be cover price for minimum of a week. Now I might hold a copy or two back for myself to sell later if I think they’ll go up. But my priority as a shop retailer is to move product, not rip people off on release day.
Imagine if you wanted the latest iPhone and Apple says it’s $699. So you show up to your local ATT shop to pick up the new phone and they’re like, nah, screw Apple, we have to stay in business, it’s $999 if you want it.
Retailers who jack up on release day are doing a disservice not only to their customers but to the industry.
Now, give it a week for people to come grab their copy, after that, it’s fair game. If you’re worried about shelf clearers, just limit the book to 1 per or like my local shop, 3 per (since most books have multiple covers, they know some might want more than just 1 cover).
You could of said the same thing about Eosv #2 1:25 I probably did. Thats why I dont have a Eosv#2 1:25 that I could of bought for $100 when it came out.
im talking pre release, not after release. paying 3x ratio on any book pre release is crazy. since there are still chances to pay ratio or less
Ok I’m going back to bed I set an alarm for 4:30 am that was 4 hours of refreshing web pages ago.
Unless you have a pretty big shop, most shops won’t get the 1:25 on this. I know mine definitely won’t. And it was a late announced 1:25 too. It’s a side one-shot. I agree if it was the main title, many more would be out there.
I’m not saying it’s worth the triple ratio, but I get it. If this character hits (we don’t know obviously) $75 will be a bargain.
I got one at $35 and one at $75 so I’m good with the shot at it being big at double ratio average.
I would be lucky if my LCS had a copy of cover a available after its pull lists and non existent ordering since COVID they wouldn’t go big on a $5.99 cover price just to sit on the shelves like Death Metal #1 and #2
Same. Talked to my shop today an he doesn’t know if he’s gonna have any (main title is on my pull but not the one-shots). DC has been a crapshoot shorting him books lately.
Trust me. For every one shop that barely ordered any, two other shops ordered a shit ton. The problem has always been the demand in areas where shops dont order enough. I think the most app saying that applys is feast or famine
I live on an island I don’t have any other option.
Seems like Midtown went heavy on this one… still available. For such a potential hot book and being limited to 3 and they still have them in stock almost 2 hours after listing… seems like this might be very easily obtainable unless Midtown kept all the copies for themselves and short all the other shops…
Well Midtown does distribute so they’ve got access to all they want. Ha.
It’s only been about an hour. I think a huge factor was they didn’t get listed when midtown normally does it. Like Alana, I was refreshing for longer then I’d like to admit. A lot of people may have given up.
I know between the copies of the variant bought from people here there’s at least 150 copies lol
If we all bought TT #12s until it got boring we would be sitting pretty today. I got 6 of those could of had 60 if I wanted. I even left all the b covers from my LCS.
Ha. We should start a thread of who ordered the 1:25 from here to see how long it takes.
My money is on 3 weeks.
When do they normally list the next week’s books? I noticed that it didn’t update at midnight Eastern, so I left that browser tab open so it’d be ready whenever it did pop up.
11am est but today they didn’t go up until after 2pm est for some reason. I saw the second the cover was added but took another 5 minutes for the add to cart button to appear.
There was a few of us hitting refresh that whole time
