Thankfully didn’t go quite that high, but at $95ish I will probably never recover my cash. But you’re right, I bought it because I like it. Just hope I don’t see a flood of covers $30 in a few weeks! Appreciate the encouragement though : )
eBay has a rule that they absolutely never enforce. Preorders are supposed to ship within 30 days of the purchase date. So by the time you do or don’t get these books or if there’s a problem of some kind you’re not covered by ebays buyers protections. So the seller doesn’t have to do anything to fix it. So these ratio variant numbers would be much lower if eBay cared for anything other than money.
ToddW. You’re spot on. Last month I gave up on a guy that I had pre-ordered from. To be fair he was very communicative and had been messed about by his supplier. After three months, I thought enough was enough. He tried to refund me and eBay wouldn’t enable the payment. I spoke to eBay directly and the reply was there was literally nothing they could/would do as it was outside the 30 days - even though I had never received the book!
The guy was really decent and refunded me via PayPal (outside of eBay). However, it made me realise how vulnerable I was if pre-orders get delayed.
This is why I will absolutely not buy pre-sale items on ebay if they don’t have the delivery ETA far out enough to cover the delivery of the item. I also only use a credit card to pay for such items as I’ve heard most of their purchase protection programs will cover you.
The thing to remember is not if you like it, but if others will like it, or get caught up in foam on a new hot artists, basically if the book will sell. Art is subjective, money is not
Comic Mint only; or other partner sites also offer?
I will purchase this nice cover from other partner sites, but I’ll chop my arms off before I purchase anything from Comic Mint after the last Pat Gleason scheme.
