sold one for $30. Covered costs plus a profit. Kept one of each.
Guess Iād better keep an eye out for them.
Target says street date is 9/4/23.
I wonder that is why they werenāt in the system. The street date is next month
Normally Targets system has a warning come up and notifies the cashier that it canāt be sold as itās not the releases date yet. So it wonāt let them sell it.
These came up as not in the system.
Just stopped by at a local Target and they have them. No error on the scanner. $24.99 so I passed. Not as lucky as @Anthony lol.
Looked again today. Nuthin. Wow, $25 for a regular size vintage figure? Is Target playing the secondary market game now? I didnāt think they were that price when they went on pre-sale.
I like how the showās episodes are going to be 9pm drop times.
Did not care to see (and be tempted by) spoiler threads erupting because people were watching it at midnight PST (3am for me) while I didnāt get a chance to watch until the kids went to bed in the evening.
Less than 24 hrs away now.
They are up nowā¦guess everyone is watching them lol
It was pretty good but the pacing is a bit slow for my taste. The show has a chance to build up really fast. I hope it does just that and doesnāt turn out to be a let down. So far so good though.
Enjoyed it personally. Like revisiting old friends.
Those folks who have zero exposure to Rebels may struggle. An awful lot of nods and plot (hell, the characters even) that they are scratching their heads about. Leads to criticism and complaints that arenāt really justified.
Itās an awful lot of story and nuanced character relationships. Dathomir/witches stuff also
Hell, should have just called this show Rebels.
Very happy with the portrayals of both Sabine & Hera.
Both were already popularā¦this show will cement them. I wish there were more Sabine related comic covers/books.
All baddies were very, very good imo. Acting/demeanor/etc. Very happy with that.
The Kanan and Thrawn series of comics have really become pretty important stories/arcs. Strong holds for me now.
If youāve never read themā¦I recommend them highly.
I donāt think that spoiled anything.
I generally liked it, or at least Iām going ti withhold judgement for the moment on two (slow) episodesā¦Andor started slow tooā¦
What bothered me most was the opening scene (it felt a little like Star Trek, at firstā¦anyone else get that vibe?)
So the captain is like āThis guy is clearly lyingā¦Iām going to invite him onto my ship and confront him myself and call him out face to face. Put myself right into harms way. What could go wrong?ā (This is where it deviates from feeling like Star Trekā¦although Kirk had been known to take risks).
How does someone that incompetent get to be a captain of a star ship? And how incompetent are the crew around him not to question him or consult him that maybe it was not the best idea?
On some level consistent with the big picture itās showcasing how inept the new republic isā¦I get that partā¦but come onā¦a first year cadet shouldnāt make that mistake.
Rest of the show was okā¦I just donāt like starting off on the wrong foot and having questions about the script/decision process lingering over as Iām trying to get a sense for where a plot is going.
That opening scene really just exemplified the hubris the New Republic seems to have, which we saw on a larger scale later in the episode.
Itās a wonder it survived as long as it did.
Initial scene was a bit weird.
At this point in time the entire concept of Jedi would likely be almost mythical in nature. Iām not quite sure of the time line of this show in regards to the Mandalorian. Would the news of Luke arriving to save Grogu/defeat Moff Gideon have added to the mythology at this point?
When the word āJediā is used on the bridge the looks that are given certainly give you the idea of shock and aweā¦but I would almost think that the looks and reactions to someone claiming to be Jedi would be more of a comical āyeah rightā type reaction.
I mean, how about a āJedi whoā or can you show me yourselves on screen before we let you anywhere near this ship and if you donāt weāll blow your ship into pieces?
This would have happened after season 2 of Mando, and I think this all happened after we saw Ahsoka visiting Luke in BoBF
God damn, this show is goooooooooooooood !!!
(and Ive never watched Rebelsā¦)
I think it actually did a decent job of āeludingā to rebels history without really needing to know it.
If people really want to know the background (like Wrenās mandalorian background or how Ahsoka/Wren/Hera know each other so well, they know where to look.
What threw me off was Ahsoka training Wrenā¦like, why? Sheās not force sensitive. Going to get her ass kicked by a Jediā¦should have been decapitated in the first episodeā¦totally outmatched.
I really donāt understand that part either. The only thing I can think of is that Sabine was very driven in Rebels and was an overachiever who helped develop a lot of Imperial tech before she joined the Rebellion.
Itās possible she thinks she can manipulate whatever to use or be sensitive to the Force. That or Ahsoka sensed something in her. Whatever it is, it was was explicitly said that her sensitivity to the force was close to non-existent
General Madine would have beat the shit out of those two with his white wand thingy. Nobody messes with āThe Beardā.
I was thinking the same things you guys were. Why let them board the ship? Just asking for trouble.
Loved both episodes!
Hereās an interesting one, Sam Witwer was credited as providing additional voices for Episode 2.
Could Inquisitor Marrok actually be Galen Marek aka Starkiller?
