Star Wars The Acolyte Specs

Last I knew actors were hired to act, not answer trivia.

The death star is 100 years in the future
why is this important?

And I agree
the people pissing and moaning likely have not read the HR comics or the books
and that is more applicable to what the world the actors are portraying.

And Anakin did blow up the Death Star

Well, he was around for two of them blowing up, albeit barely on that second time around

Well, the pace certainly picked up this episode

Yeah, heck of an episode. I’m sure those who hate the cast will appreciate a lot of this one lol

lol.

Anyone catch the Doctor Aphra reference on this episode?

Don’t get too excited
the reference is a material, not a character.

Sol: “She was just a child.”

The Master: “You brought her here.”

Gold. This was a great exchange between the two
and apparently.

Would love to comment so much more, but will hold off in case others haven’t seen it yet.

It was more like

“She was just a child.”

“:man_shrugging: You brought her here.”

Cold. Real cold.

Disney clearly doesn’t give two $hits about the High Republic comics. So much for all the Nihil fan theories. The Disney+ shows are their own beasts and I think for continuity sake, it looks like Disney will avoid comic content as much as possible. Makes me wonder if we will ever see Dr. Aphra on TV.

The showrunner came out a long time ago saying that Vern is the only character from the comics or books making an appearance this season. So any Nihil or other rumors should have been taken with a grain of salt.

The High Republic comics for the most part have really just helped supplement the books to this point. Not too much happened in them TBH. Many could easily be skipped and still not miss the main HR events. Also, Phase III is also still going on, so I don’t think they want to give away any spoilers for what’s going on.

This show is supposed to show the decline of the Republic and the Jedi which I think it’s getting to. I don’t think there has been anything in comics that could draw from for this to occur unless you get a bunch of Levelers walking around still.

I believe the sith we’ve seen is Darth Venamis. He hasn’t appeared in any comics. His master is likely Darth Tenebrous, who also hasn’t appeared in any comics, but he first appeared in Star Wars Insider #130. So if anyone is speccing on what’s going to happen, that could be a good pick up.

I thought all the Nihil and leveler stuff was prior to this
and the fallout from those encounters/battles was why the Jedi started to believe their beliefs/ways of practicing the force was the only way
thus why they started behavior tactics like surveillance of witches and other cults, trying to discourage (prohibit) them from teaching the next generation
practically genicode.

Yeah, that stuff is far in the past. The Jedi are (unsuccessfully) dealing with the fallout from those events. What we are seeing is the result of those traumas.

It’s interesting “The Stranger” said he wants an acolyte, and did not use the word apprentice. Hmmmm. We’ll see if that means anything next episode.

FINALLY, a good episode.

:grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

Yeah, masters don’t need acolytes. They need an apprentice. Apprentices take on acolytes.

I think the stranger was sent to surveil Mae and osha, just like the Brendok 4

This will all be revealed in episode 7, likely a flashback episode telling t what REALLY happened on Brendok, as I think the big secret is Osha set the fire to escape with the Jedi, and Sol and company manipulated her memory to spare he the trama and take her with them.

Episode 7 is directed by the same cree as episode 3.

Ooooh, that’s a really good theory!

I’m very interested in Sol’s ‘dark place’ (or whatever the term was).

MAGNETO called he wants his helmet gimmick back

Magnetos helmet did not short out light sabers.

He can keep his helmet.
