Star Wars The Acolyte Specs

If Qimir turns out to be a vessel for Lord Momin, I really lucked out. The mask is quite different, though

So correct me if I am wrong but didn’t we see a young Yoda in one of the prequels? So why would he appear as old in this series??

he was old in the phantom menance. Grey hair and all.

The best part of the episode was this guy in the shadows
there’s no mistaking who this is.

That’s enough spoilers without really spoiling it for now

But I thought for all its ups and downs this series ended on a great high note.

Yeah, he was pretty old in the prequels. To the point that during a Clone Wars arc some on the council thought he was getting senile when he started communicating with force ghosts.

He was on the High Council during a phase II of the High Republic, which was almost 400 years before the battle of Yavin. Guy is getting pretty long in the tooth at this point in the High Republic and more so during the prequels.

I’ve got a theory about what he’s up to. He’s hunting his recently dead master’s (possibly Tenebrous) secret other apprentice (Q’imir who is possibly Venamis).

If we get a season 2, maybe we get some sith on sith battles.

We know Qimir is old now, given his ties to Rwoh. He coukd be a “young” Palpatine
but I think they would have cast someone who had similar physical characteristics. So seems like a stretch. But wouldn’t that be a plot twist
Vernestra Rwoh revealed to have training Palpatine?

There’s another possibility
Imri Cantaros
but this would make Qimir really old

During his time on Wevo, he began to develop strong feelings of anger towards the pirates responsible for his master’s death and eventually let those feelings boil over when he saw that the pirates were also stranded on the moon with them. He went rogue, disobeying Vernestra’s orders to plan a strategy to subdue their enemies. He and Weft were captured by the pirates after their ambush failed, and Vernestra eventually rescued them. However, when Vernestra was in peril, Cantaros intervened, using a Force choke on Da. Vernestra cautioned him about using the Dark side of the Force, but Cantaros was desperate for revenge, even dueling Vernestra for a short time before he calmed down and realized the error of his ways.

Imri and Qimir share a lot of letters in common. Also, with Plagueis in the picture and the apparent Master
I’m sure they could say his aging was slowed by Plagueis’ research/abilities into life creation.

Imri would be super old if the case, but I’m sure they could explain that way. My only issue with it being Imri is that he’s described as being Blonde and blue eyes, IIRC. Also, while similar in stature to other humans, his species/race is built quite a bit larger.

I don’t think they would have described him in the books just to flip the script in the show.

There were other dark Jedi during this time that lived longer because they accepted the dark side of the force without going full with. None were Vern’s Padawan, but there is precedent for it happening at least.

I could be wrong, though.

This is probably the best argument. They didn’t change Rwoh’s physical character traits, and even though he’s never been described in canon they’re going with what everyone expects Plagueis to be (species). So why would they cast Qimir as a young Palpatine or Imri to look nothing like the canon characters?

So I’d say 95% chance he’s a new character. Darth Venamis is Bith, so you’d think they’d not flip that script either
but not many know the of Venamis so could do so with minimal pushback I suopose.

Curious how episodes 1-7 had Point/Counterpoint titles
yet this last episode is just titled “Episode 8”.

I wonder why that is. Does the title spoil the ending so it’s being withheld for now?

Yeah, I agree. They could species-swap venamis if they wanted since his species hasn’t been revealed in canon yet, but I think you’re right.

I read Darth Plagueis back in 2012 when it came out. Good book. But the reprint out now has the “legends” thing slapped on the cover meaning Disney writers don’t have to honor $hit from it. So, I say Qimir is a new character. Not any of Plagueis’ apprentices from the novel. With no real explanation in the show, for all we know Plagueis may not even be a Sith yet and just spying on Qimir. This is where the writers got stuck in a hole vs the old novel. If Plagueis is not Qimir’s master he isn’t his apprentice according to the timeline in the novel. If he is Qimir’s master, then it makes the novel a little weird because there is no mention of any of this which doesn’t fit in the timeline of the novel either.

Couldn’t everything that has happened in the show just be covered up by characters? That’s why it wasn’t addressed in the novel?

Bleeding a crystal in the comics looks way more intense.

It’s got to be intense if you have a vision of Lando while doing it.

Nothing that a little colt 45 can’t settle down
