Star Wars The Acolyte Specs

Imri Cantaros is a high possibility to show up due to A Test of Courage connection.

A lot of people have a tainted bias towards store variants. Enough so to make mention of the publisher released version.

As far as which book to get. I think theyā€™ll both be good. Turini is much more limited in supply, which helps offset the negative bias by some.

However, if you take a look at all the important first appearances in the Annual - and consider the low ā€œsales numbersā€ - the Annual will ultimately prevail.

You under estimate the power of the FOMO.

There are over 100,000,000 Star Wars fans.

If you divide 100,000,000 by 150,000 it comes out to one copy for every 667 fans.

Based on the estimates, in the case of the Annual, you have one copy for every 4,499 fans.

Based on the estimates, in the case of the 1 in 25 ratio for High Republic Trail of Shadows 5, you have one copy for every 83,333 fans.

95% of casual Star Wars fans donā€™t even know what the High Republic is yet.

FOMO already happened when the issue came outā€¦

Good lord, just stop your bs logicā€¦

Not every SW fan buys or reads comics

Itā€™s just simple mathā€¦

What, FOMO canā€™t hit twice?

And as the numbers illustrate, not all of them need to read comics in order for supply to exceed demand.

Just 1 out of every 667, 4,499, and 83,333 fans is all it takes in those examples.

Thatā€™s a new one to me.

First cover. Period.

Not saying itā€™s the one to getā€¦but it is nice.

I know a lot of hardcore Star Wars fans who donā€™t even touch comics. Using the 100 million fans math is just throwing out proofinessā€¦

If I were suggesting that all 100,000,000 fans were going to buy High Republic comics I would agree.

But, thatā€™s not at all what Iā€™m doing.

The 100,000,000 is the baseline used to determine the percentage of Star Wars fans that would need to buy one in order for demand to exceed supply.

And to be extra conservative, Iā€™ve been applying this math under the assumption that every fan could only own 1 copy.

Using the same examples in percentage format:

High Republic #2: 0.15% of fans could own 1 copy each
High Republic Adventures Annual: 0.022% could own 1 copy each
High Republic Trail of Shadows 5 1:25 Ratio: 0.0013% could own 1 copy each

For even the highest print run High Republic books - they could only satisfy demand for less than 1/6 of 1% of the potential fan base.

Was there any FOMO: A New Hope with these issues?

Have these open orders ever sold for more than cover?

There wasnt a price increase. I dont think any regular covers sold over cover price. People were just buying them up on FOC and releaseā€¦hence FOMO.

Because we all knew there was spec thereā€¦

Thatā€™s still proofiness logic. First of all the amount of Star Wars fans is just a guesstimate. What constitutes a fan? Number of movie ticket sales? How many toys are bought? Some fans donā€™t even buy merchandise. Iā€™m a Star Wars fan and I donā€™t go out and buy t-shirts or toys, I buy a few comics (currently only buy to read Darth Vader). Youā€™re just making math deception to try and prove your point which fails miserably because itā€™s just using your own made up numbers (particularly using the estimated fans number theory to argue what it takes to create demand) to make an argument. You should just stopā€¦

Click my proofiness link. Buy and read that bookā€¦ and then start coming up with better ways to make your point without just blindly throwing out numbers to persuade people the logic is good in your assumptions.

Thatā€™s absolutely ridiculous. Stop? STOP?

Why? Isnā€™t this a comic message board and weā€™re theorizing about comics. Isnā€™t that the point of this place?

If youā€™re going to refute me, at least come at me with some actual data and research instead of lobbing empty insults that have no basis.

Have you ever researched the size of Star Wars fan base? Maybe start there and get back to meā€¦

Itā€™s one thing to theorize, itā€™s another to just use logical fallacies in your arguments to prove your point. I donā€™t need to research Star Wars fans and what they buy and donā€™t buy, that burden of proof is upon you with all the numbers you keep throwing in your comments. Iā€™m telling you, your logic falls flat because you havenā€™t backed it up yourself. So please, you should just stopā€¦
