Now the every issue store variants are coming. Time to start the usual cycle

The IDW series will probably have the better specs. Much lower print runs.

Yeah and already the most interesting first appearance: Marchion Ro.

And only 1:10 variants…I don’t think IDW has solicited any store variants…

Not that ive seen.

That’s good not store variants for IDW. Even some of the weekly hype creators keep referring to IDW as the lesser series.

Which is just silly because it’s a great story and art so far!

does anyone have the print runs of star wars high republic vs adventures?

It’s still great characters, great art, just tailored to be more accessible to a younger audience. Not necessarily less action, they’re still saying “Buckets of Blood” for gods’ sake. Rebels was all ages. Clone wars was all ages.

Jumping IP: Harley’s first Batman Adventures appearance was all ages.

I don’t think this is a typical IDW situation where IDW is just trying to sell comics using a license with only licensing fees rewarding the property owner.
My suspension is Disney wants to flesh out High Republic quickly to make the real money on tv/movies/games/etc, IDW is being used to establish characters for Disney. IDW has now become an unusual place for significant first appearances which is not typical for an intellectual license.

Interesting that Marvel is reprinting the long out of print Darth Mail Son of Dathomir tpb. One of the last Dark Horse Star Wars books. The regular issues and the TPB are pricey.

The irony…
