Star Wars: The High Republic

It expect the market to slow but I dont think its a bubble. There is actual demand for these comics. I expect it to stay even post-COVID.

It is possible that some content will not be as good as people hope, but I trust that Filoni and Favreau will produce enough good content going forward for Star Wars.

As for Marvel, I am excited to see how they incorporate X-men, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Punisher, Iron Fist, Doom, Surfer, Galactus etc into the MCU.

There is so much content going forward that there is a high probability that at least some will hit the mark and like every evolutionary process, they should weed out the weak links as they progress.

As a whole, I feel we are at the crossroads of a new era, and we will look back at 2021 as the year that we exploded upwards.

As for spec, my rule is to never buy anything past the official announcement of upcoming media content. Just wait for the inevitable FOMO to die. If you front run it, your risk reward profile becomes substantially lower (e.g. buying a stack of SWHR #1 and Strange Academy#1 at 35% off)

Fair enough of a point.

I think we are all ecstatic to see how the Fox/Netflix properties get incorporated into the MCU.
Hell, I’m very much looking forward to a short Jen Walters in a courtroom drama, lol. :v:

I do not believe it to a bubble either. Mind you, there isn’t much of a precedent in this market to accurately define exactly what a bubble would be.

I think some of this is a current market correction on books that were previously under valued for decades. Particularly in the bronze books. Having said that, I also believe there will be a leveling off, so to speak. When that happens, I would suspect that books with no real precedent will suffer the most. That and variant niche markets. I’m predicting that to perhaps start early next year. Time will tell. :beers::v:

GSX1/Hulk181 prices seem to be a bubble to me

I think more investors are realizing they should put their money into collectibles, because they are a part of our history, and aren’t going away anytime soon. If anything, more people are starting to become ‘nerds’ themselves. One of us, one of us!

I agree, the market is not a bubble, it is just driven by global monetary easing, multiple rounds of excess stimulus, international vaccine rollouts (which will in turn ease lockdowns), record Fed asset buying and ultra low interest rates til 2023. PE compression should occur once the biological factor is eradicated.

Hulk181 on the other hand is probably bubblicious. But in general, the rise in collectible prices is an after effect of the global monetary easing and stimulus, which means cash value will eventually drop.

I missed getting the Mayhew variant. IT really caught my eye too…

I have an extra trade dress you can have at cost if you want.

I skipped that latest Mayhew variant. If it was a 1st cover I might have gotten it.

Yeah, me too. It’s fine, but I like all three HR #1 regular covers better anyway.

These are still in stock

Edit - I grabbed a trade just because I liked the art

High Republic Adventures 5 (IDW) Yale Nathan 1:10 cover. It’s hot fire. (Except the strange MC Escher gun perspective is something I can’t unsee.

Also: first cover appearance of Krix (moody kid in the back).

Everything about HR Adventures has been so good.

In the foreground, the masked dudes head looks small on his body… like he has no neck or something. Just me?

That moody boy so looks like my daughter on the first trip/day at Disney world. We stopped to get the touristy pic in front of Cinderella’s castle and my daughter (just turned four at the time) threw a fit and refused to stand with us for the photo.

How dare we!!

Instead she was in the background with this classic sour puss face…

Welcome to where wishes come true!

Is it that it makes it look like the gun is twisted, but it’s not?
