She shows up in Rising Storm and she’s pretty badass. I think this is the type of character people will really connect with. She WAS a Jedi. She left the dogma, though. Now she’s a rogue monster hunter. Like I’ve said before- Space Witcher.

I only ordered one from TFAW. Most people and shops already are on to this. So I figure I can wait till later in the year, when copies will be marked down. Or it could be a great story, with new great characters, and then I’ll be kicking myself Now if TFAW sends me my one, I will be happy

Yes, I ordered only one, thinking I will get it for much cheaper later. I notice that my comic book shops have piles of Star Wars gathering on their racks and the back issue bins. I take that to mean that they are popular, and people have already caught on to them. So I dont want to be stuck with too many copies, being on a budget.

One of these new High Republic characters is bound to take off. It’s a numbers game. Might as well be Ty Yorrick. Who doesn’t love a rogue with a chip on their shoulder?

If they do a show in that era, hopefully a lot of them will be in it. Will see how it goes, not a bad read so far.

You wont believe some of the books that I see on sale at the shops here. Dont get me wrong - if these books get specced on and the books stay hot for awhile, I wont find them on sale. BUT for some books, it starts out hot, and then cools off. The books then either get sold back to the shop, or the back stock stays on shelves and back issue bins for awhile, till the shop does a sale - BOGO, 50%, $1, etc. People forget about these books, but if you have a good memory or app, you still can find these books. ASM 4 was an example - it started out hot, then cooled off so much, that I found about 20 copies in a $1 bin. Sold them off at a good price then (they are going for/could go for much higher now), and it helped me with my comic binge for the year. I have other examples.
I just feel that this Star Wars book is already on notice being a #1, that it will be heavily ordered, reducing the spec. In the end though its my opinion on the spec, and for sure I’ve lost out on speccing many, many times. If it does well, I hope I can find a few copies, but for sure I need to pick up my speccing game, to feed my variant purchasing.
But I always hope the spec works out for everyone investing in it - its good for the speculators, good for the comic industry (as long as no one goes broke !)

Oh I wasnt even talking spec I meant just legit cover price. But sounds like u have shops with not many customers or they order a lot so that works in your favor especially for ASM for to be a $1 idc how cool it gets that still a spider-man book during a great run. But I’ve rarely seen newer hit books drop below cover at an LCS only midtown and bigger stores.

An SW idw adventures mini series is very different then a SW marvel series. A lot of stores don’t even bring in the adventures books as they don’t sell anywhere near as good as the main marvel series. My LCS doesn’t bring in any adventures outside of pulls.

I dont know - the comics shops around me are smaller in size, and have been buying lots of collections, especially in last year/this year. They quickly pick the hot books out, and then need to clear space, for the new stock, so they have sales about every quarter to get rid of old stock. Again dont get me wrong, I am not talking about a high value spec, these are books that could probably go for $15-20. You just have to be prepared to dig - very hard on the knees and back of an older guy like me, and an eye out for the spec.
