Star Wars: The High Republic

I’m also hoping we get to see a High Republic & Land of the Lost comic crossover.
The Sleestak would love Ssskeer.

That is unique. Amazon is an untapped market imho. When i have more time i will have to experiment with it.

I’m not selling any of them right now. These books represent the perfect storm.

  1. A lot of people didn’t know that it was changed to an ongoing series pre-FOC.

  2. The week these FOC’d was the same week as all the new Future State # 1’s and a lot of other attractive titles.

  3. Only 4 store variants - 2 of which are limited to 600 copies - so very little cover competition and no flooding of the 1:10’s and 1:25’s.

  4. FOC was 3 weeks before Christmas during a pandemic. Not a good time to pour money into a comic. People were broke because of Christmas shopping and even more broke because of Covid.

  5. Based on all all the hype since # 1 hit the market, I think # 2 from Marvel and # 1 from IDW will have crazy high print runs.

Then, speaking more long term, Disney hasn’t even really started their ad spend to promote this. And we all know it’s coming.

Add in future novels, Disney + possibilities, movies, merchandise. I’m long, super long…

I’ve seen talk elsewhere that once this comic book sees some type of visual adaptation it’s a permanent must have for star wars fans.

Printed, yes. Available for sale, no. Not for 2 of them anyway.

My LCS was overlooking the IDW title as they have not previously carried IDW Star Wars Adventures. The IDW title is tough to estimate how heavy it will be ordered just due to being IDW. Shops could also think #2 for the Marvel title may not carry as much demand as #1 since sales fall after issue #1 for many series but 1st in story of the twins in #2 is huge.

most titles drop 40-50% from issue 1 to 2

Dosnt matter printed or for sale. Eventually they will end up on the market.

the amount of people who don’t get that is mind numbing, while they wont sell them on their site they dump them at cons, ebay, and other places. check mcs auction some time, every week a few stores are dumping exclusives

Before the Yoda cover and the Marvel # 1’s popping, I was thinking this too. Not anymore.

Unless they’re allocated, it’s going to be a HUGE print run. Ultimately I don’t think it will matter, but I don’t think we’ll see a sustainable $20 value on the IDW cover A’s for quite some time.

Number 2 preview for Marvel states in all caps that there will be new characters in this issue. It will be much heavier than # 1 for all the reasons I stated in my post about the perfect storm.

Price mistake, they refunded me my money.

Haha I almost ordered 2 as well, but figured I would end up in the same boat as you. Their website is a little strange…

Im gonna grab at least 2 copies of each issue till about 6/7 see how story goes etc. I think by then will have cleared out the hypebeasts.

Hmmmm, I think Star Wars is going well now don’t you?

Guess I’m doing ok. Got 1-4 and 6 and 7 off that top 10. 60%

2nd print will be the lowest of the reprints. There will be a lot of retailers who missed ordering this.

I collect black series I’m in a couple groups for action figures and there are quite a few collectors that had no clue about these books until last week…and they missed out. The additional prints will move.
