Star Wars: The High Republic

Not at all. I’m not a fanboy of cbsi at all, only check their top 10 each week for curiosity, and I am skeptical of what they are saying they are going to do but so far I have no reason to not trust that they won’t do it. It is literally their first exclusive yet no one is seeing that, my doubts from the beginning was if they were even going to have/send the books and they did and they arrived in great condition - that should be the story here yet it isn’t. And it’s not cbsi, you all keep tying it to cbsi but it’s literally one dude from cbsi that owns the cbe website. That’s like if poyo makes a store exclusive and we call it the CHU exclusive, it just isn’t the same thing. Even if they don’t post a video, prices are still sky high on the secondary market and I’m happy with my purchase. But like I’ve said before, if it comes out in the future that they held back stock/sold on the side or something then I agree all these things are justified and correct to be screamed from the mountaintops. So far all it’s been are people saying ‘but what if they do this’ ‘but they are going to do that’ , when they haven’t done any of the accusations people are throwing around yet, yet people are acting like they have done it already. I just don’t think it’s a fair assessment.

“Keep your damn stumps!”

Oh man. I thought I had the drop on this, but you had the image and the text in meme form. Bravo.

I didn’t know about the Sad Lemon variant because I don’t order books from the UK. I had no idea there was one. I have remained very silent on the issue except my pulling the legs off the GI Joe comment. In the end I don’t really care what people do, but I vote with my wallet. I get along with several of the CBSI guys. I know there are guys over there that don’t like me or CHU and have been sent some very nasty comments in screen shots. I don’t know. I don’t trust either store variant but don’t really pay much mind to store variants in general.

Question, did Sad Lemon say they were going to destroy the other 2400 copies? If so, did they say they were going to provide evidence?

My one point of contention is that it was not immediately disclosed that the CBE book was tied in to CBSI contributor. Hell, I have done variants in the past and it’s fun, but I never did them under another name. I have partnered with shops to do some but that was fully disclosed. I just feel like the promotion of the book started without disclosing and then it was later disclosed a few days later. Other than that I really do not care what they do, they are free to do whatever they want.

Anyone who buys 3,000 books to destroy 2,400 of them to make them scarce will never get a dime from me. The connection to a spec website is a potential conflict of interest.

Legos are overpriced too, there are so many alternatives now. If they really wanted to be played by poor kids, they should lower their prices.

Well, just a few things here and do not feel that I am angry or mad or insulting you or anything like that as I post this:

  1. Sad Lemon is not a spec site, they are a retailer. It ok if they pump and dump. It’s literally their job.
  2. I didn’t even know Sad Lemon had an exclusive.
  3. Sad Lemon is from the UK. Not likely to ever buy anything from them anyway
  4. CBSI was silent on their connection until everyone suspected that was the case
  5. CBSI has a documented history of pumping and dumping their own exclusives
  6. While the claims can not be verified ex-employees have publicly stated CBSI pumps and dumps
  7. A spec site should not be telling me every month that I need to buy their exclusive because it’s a great long term hold or blah blah blah
  8. You are getting caught up in feeling that you need to defend your purchase to critics of CBE/CBSI. You don’t.
  9. My opinion is that you were pretty rude to the people of CHU simply because you feel the need to defend your purchase.
  10. And last but not least, you were the very first vocal critic of this being attached to CBSI. Like literally the first at comment #217.
  11. You started the narrative that this seemed like a scam and are now in here accusing people of just talking crap because it’s a competitor spec site. Bad form, man.
  12. I guess #10 wasn’t really last.

A speculative publication pimping and dumping its own exclusives? Sounds a lot like Wizard Magazine to me.

I’m also surprised CBSI has employees.

Clearly they haven’t taken the CHU approach where @Anthony chains his “employees” to the walls while working to save money…

At least he doesn’t make you put the lotion on your skin. You know what happens if it doesn’t put the lotion on it’s skin?

The Disney work for hire model.

It’s not 1600 comics, but feels like a win to me! Tfaw did an excellent job at packaging them @RipCityGamer thanks! Will sell a few to cover cost and then store most away to ship off to grade another day.

Nice! You might just barely have more copies than the man who has named his online presence after Star Wars. Good show.

I wouldn’t have known about either of these if it weren’t for you all. So you get all the credit! Normally don’t order 35 of any one comic, but the way everyone talked it seemed like i needed to. Also that spiderman cover is hot hot hot!

The good thing is that I already sold a lot of the star wars from just buying them up at the LCS, so not much more to cover all the costs! Woohoo!

You are welcome. We take gratitude and credit in the form of cash, checks, gold. Lol

Congrats on that score. That is a money making shipment right there.
