Apparently they don’t do refunds, says on their faq as “comics are a collectible”. They may issue a store credit. But seeing this is my first and my last order with midtown I don’t see how a store credit would be useful for me. They’re only going to do a shoddy packaging job for me next time.

If they truly believe this, they should ship them in packaging worthy of a collectible.

Thats how they ship to Canada… it’s pathetic. I never check Midtown out anymore, even when they have deep discount sales, because I know the comics will be destroyed.

They’ve sent me a book with a chopped corner and neither midtown or paypal wanted to refund me. I only buy signed books and really cheap books from them now. I’ll never buy anything expensive from them.
Dispute with credit company, get your money back and move on…

You mean midtown never stops the disputes? Not sure what you mean here but yeah I believe I’ll have to contact paypal as I don’t expect midtown to do anything. They’re going to blame the delivery drivers but it’s clearly not the case.
Yeah, they’re so busy, they won’t bother disputing it with credit card or paypal if you used that to pay. I did it once when they kind of just stopped responding, got my money back and kept the damaged books I think I donated.

Correct, Midtown never fights PayPal disputes, at least in my experience. Have had to do it a couple of times.

Just an FYI: Midtown has signed books on sale today. They have Strange Adventures 1 signed by Tom King for $2.20. I grabbed a few, mostly because I love the story and am a huge Tom King fan. Deadboy Detectives 1 signed by the writer for less than cover price, too, if you’re a Sandman fan.

Scott Snyder is doing a signing at Third Eye this weekend for White Boat, I picked one up to get signed. This means that Midtown will most likely be hosting him for a signing as well.
