I don’t think Singularity had the power set that the little girl at the end of Thor has. This “spec” is solely from how she appears aesthetically when she is first revived.
I think that’s what is going on actually.
Look at the prior release timelines of the early Marvel cinematic universe.
- Iron Man 2008
- The Incredible Hulk 2008
- Iron Man 2 2010
- Thor 2011
- Captain America 2011
- The Avengers 2012
That’s 4 years and 5 movies before they got their first team movie.
Endgame came out in 2019.
Since then, in terms of theatrical releases we’ve had:
- Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
- Black Widow (2021)
- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
- Eternals (2021)
- Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
- Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
6 films in 3 years. So a little quicker pace probably due to a much bigger infusion of budget and capital from Disney acquisition, audience interest, etc.
But I think they are right on track. If you go back and watch some of the standalone Avengers films, I think you’ll realize you were probably saying the same sort of thing back then too.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Marvels are both slated for 2023 release. Either one could be the team kick-off. I think they’re right on track.
Those Spider-Man movies are in collaboration with Sony, so I would argue that they are less likely to introduce new team members in those films.
It was kinda disappointing, to be honest. A little far fetched, even for a minions movie.
Too Gun was way better.
Someone posted this on the marvel studios subreddit…
I think that with more content than ever in a single year (and just half way through), Disney is taking their time and milking it. But that’s creating some of the frustration people are having with this phase and how it’s progressed, so far.
imo, although I’ve genuinely enjoyed all the recent stuff, I do feel they could use some tie-ins to spice things up and get people hype. Once they start having more of those, I think the collective excitement will pick up again.
I said it before and I’ll say it again: the MCU is becoming like the LCS every Wednesday. Dozens of Marvel comics each week. Do you pick every single one of them up and love each one? Unlikely.
If you grabbed a Ms. Marvel comic, would you enjoy it? Probably. It might not strike you personally as the best comic you’ve ever read, though.
This is what the films and tv series have become. Are you likely to enjoy Moon Knight just fine? Sure. Are the vast majority of people going to enjoy it as much as say Thor or Iron Man? Unlikely.
In the 2000s and 2010s, the idea of a shared cinematic universe populated with Marvel characters was novel and Marvel pulled it off really well. It’s no longer novel. They’ve spread pretty thin and now the question is what comes next?
Disney and Marvel Studios are pumping out waaaay too much content, and the quality suffers. Phase 1, 2, and 3 were so focused; A+ quality. Phase 4 is a rushed mixed bag. They must want to please the shareholders and get those profits…
I noticed 2020 is missing….the year we all want to forget…
I’m not complaining. I have yet to even seen an MCU movie in the theatre’s. But I’ve been watching Disney+ series religiously and enjoying most of them. I can’t even get past a few episodes of any DC shows.
I had high hopes for Naomi as I enjoyed the comic mini series, however dropped out after watching 2 episodes. Ms. Marvel is more of the quality and entertainment/pace I was expecting Naomi would be…so they are doing something right DC is getting very wrong.
I wish you were right about this, cause my Disney shares are down bad
Down along with the general share markets I guess. Premium collectibles are a better investment, especially one-of-a-kind collectibles such as original comic art!
Still gotta have people buy that art. A sagging economy effects everything. Nothing is bulletproof, except gold.
New price records still being reached at each art auction regardless. Price of gold comes down when economy does well.
The rich are getting richer. That’s all that means.
Oh, and don’t forget ammo. The only things REALLY worth a damn and 1 - shelter,
2 - food/water, and the means to protect #1 & 2.
Unless it’s a zombie apocalypse, then it’s can openers and bullets…
We arent in a recession yet. The economy is still healthy.
I’ll raise you fresh drinking water.
Oh my god…
Finally watched it online. I will say that after making generally good movies for more than a decade, you would expect them to know which part of their movies to improve and be better.
Love and Thunder feels excessive and the kind of supposed wit they thought they were doing made me to not take it seriously. Not a fan of Korg and his narrations tbh. I would have love for it to give more weight to Thor’s struggle connecting/meeting in between Jane’s battle with cancer. That’s maybe the reason why Jane’s death scene felt hollow.
