Black winter will be back. Isn’t CGR still around?
Nice, gratz
The Maker > 616 Reed
Miles Morales > Peter Parker
Spider-Gwen > Dead-Gwen
I will always give the nod to good ol Peter Parker
I stand corrected and will be the first to say u are right.
Codex is not Dylan.
I disagree. Black Winter is just a formless mass that takes the shape of one’s demise. In my area Venom 25/27 was selling for more, so heat wise he was hotter than the now wrecked Black Snowflake. I expect after ‘Thaw’ #7, this will still be the case. Either way it’s semantics until we watch the story unfold.
We should make a poll on who thinks Codex will die at the end of this arc. Should be fun.
I bet he has a solo title coming in January
I honestly doubt that Black Winter is gone. He was simply split into a million pieces. Hell, he was able to show Thor his future in the form of a snowflake. IMO, he will simply reform and will return in the not so distant future.
For you lounge trust level 2 peeps, early spoilers been posted there… not all but a preview of the spoilers coming this Tuesday…
Beautiful!! Can’t wait to read this book
Definitely wouldn’t mind seeing him again.
Dylan Brock is an awful character thus far. He is purely reactionary. Codex being a alt universe Dylan doesnt change this. The lack of characterization for Dylan is why i truly believe Tynion is the better writer currently. Not thats its a contest.
I agree, there is so much that could be done with Dylan but his character development has been thus far subpar. He seems to be following the same ol’ … ‘let’s make an uber powerful kid Richards’ storyline.
You all do realize he’s a kid right, in the story? I make fun of him but I also realize that Cates is likely trying to portray how an actual kid would handle knowing he’s part symbiote, can control them, etc… trying to find his place in the Marvel Universe…
Exactly, there is so much that could be done with the complex emotions of him being thrown into this whole wild and dangerous world where each revelation brings to light so much more. And yet, Cates has not even scratched the surface
Because… Marvel wants to keep selling issues. Up and Down, drag it out… high points and low points… get people interested then go into a slight lull in the story…
It’s like sitting in church, being lectured by the pastor. For a minute you’re feeling great, pastor says you are great, God thinks your great… then the next minute he’s got you all depressed, you’re a sinner… you’re not worthy… but BAM!, now you’re great again, you believe and he’s got you feeling so good you’re willing to hand over a wad of cash to the church…
That’s story telling in a sense, high points and low points. Cates and Marvel want to tell a story and if they get people to keep buying issues, then they make more money. We’ll they scratch the surface? Probably… when though? Who knows, Cates got everyone buying and talking about his books… Goal #1 accomplished… Goal #2, keep on selling them…
I get dragging it out, which is what makes for interesting writing. How one drags it out is the problem, there could be so much more done with the character on interim. Cates has definitely got the selling books down thing, but sculpting Dylan’s character into someone relatable with his own personality is what he hasn’t done right. MacCready does have a good point.
One could question is Dylan actually a key character for the long haul though? If I wrote, I would try to make it so everyone thinks one thing but I have plans in a completely different direction. I would love to see Dylan killed off and Codex takes reign…
There would be no happy endings that people expect coming out of my head or ideas… I’m sick and twisted, would love to make people gobble up a character and crush all your hopes and dreams.
That won’t happen, it’s too dark. I doubt they will kill off a kid in a Marvel comic.
