Then Cates can go over to Batman and have Punchline take off her mask because she’s actually Harley!
While reading that run I was at first convinced that Catwoman and Batman were secretly working together and she was using this old pact to get all the villains together so Batman could bring them in. I was also convinced that a character we already knew would be Punchline (like Catwoman or Dick Grayson) and that would be the “punchline” to the joke. Did not happen. Totally missed chance on cross-dressing Dick.

I wasn’t saying Codex isn’t Dylan, just there’s two Dylan’s. So while I appreciate the credit, it doesn’t sound like I was right. Ha. I’d prefer him to not be Dylan.
Thor 5 was consistently going for $50 and the 1:25 was hitting $250-300 at one point. Venom 25/27 were both $10-15 books. I’m not sure where your area is, but I’m basing it on the market as a whole. There was much more heat behind BW.
Just checked ebay sales and the last 3 Thor 5 went for $50, $55, 55 within the last 24 hours (post snowflake). The last 3 Venom 27 went $5, $6, $10 free shipping. The last 3 Venom 25 went $7, $6, $6.
It’s not even comparable post snowflake.
If you are selling Venom #25s NM for $7 or Venom #27s NM for $6, I definitely know some buyers. The last auction in my area went for $26 (Venom #25) and $32 (Venom #27). That was 2 days ago.
A Venom #25 2nd 9.8 PTG just sold for $81.
That’s great to here about the Thor #5 1:25 though, I think my two copies should be NM. Were they raws?
They go for around $175-200 now. Last sale was $200. Raw.
He was talking about Thor #5 regular covers being $50 still. The 1:25’s are still $200+ raw.

I sold plenty of copies for more than $50… Venom #25 only made me around $20 or so on the copies I obtained… mmm… hmm… Black Winter > Codex

Is it possible stores bumped their orders for Venom 27? I get the sense there were more of this issue to go around.
Not only stores bumped their orders but buyers went heavy as well… 
Supply certainly exceeds current demand.
To be fair to Codex, Black Winter was teased heavily in advance and order #s were still a little flat for Thor 5. Note, I have a Thor 5 a cover and Thor 5 1:25, so I want Black Winter to hold value.
There was no Codex hype leading into Venom 25 and that issue is only a small cameo. He only started picking up steam with the second print and when ppl started seeing the Codex exclusive variant covers coming for Venom 26.
I’ve spoken to more casual comic observers and they were actually unsure if Codex was a new character or Knull had a new look. However, I think the difference is pretty clear after you’ve seen him a couple times.
Anyways, Black Winter will be back and Cates will probably make him pretty cool. But Codex may just be a slower burn to get his popularity up, or maybe he won’t get there at all!
But to your point, yes there is a lot of Venom 27 volume out there so I wouldn’t expect a spike on that issue anytime soon. Venom 25 / 2nd print however… (fingers crossed haha)

Because that was the name of the story arc itself and no one was sure what Black Winter exactly was going into it. This one also got caught mixed up during COVID when the later arc issues #4 and #5 were suppose to be released, etc.
Well, if they looked at the full page spread of Venom #25, it’s clearly not Knull since he’s also in the picture…
But there was plenty of hype after Venom #25 and yes, stores pumping their store exclusives with him on the cover when he didn’t even show up in the issue…
