he sold them to resellers and whatnot crowd before show, and just put piles of dum dum suckers on the table
Bill I know you read CHU. Good analysis. I generally enjoy your content because you post a lot of previews and spoilers of upcoming things to look out for. However I usually canât make it past a few minutes of your video because you act so immature in your vids, screaming âSick!â and âthatâs what she saidâ every minute. It gets tiresome and really annoying to watch.
When you do videos like this where you talk openly and honestly I find you very enjoyable.
Initial reports were saying that some copies were being sold to other retailers/vendors behind the scenes & I did see one (only one) picture of a few, but clearly, someone put a stop to them (looking at you Marvel).
In this day & age⊠thereâs no way one of those Deadpool or Ghost Rider issues doesnât find their way onto eBay even if the individual doesnât complete the sale or it gets pulled down later (if copies were put out there). Iâve been watching for one religiously all weekend. Nothing.
Not to mention the fact as I stated above that only one picture has ever been seen of copies at all.
He can put all the Dum dum suckers out he wantsâŠhe took the loss on this.
You know what candy he wonât be putting out on his tableâŠPAYDAYS
Oh all the flavors of Lolipops he could have put out, the flavor he got stuck with is salty. He is salty his scam got exposed.
Interesting about Robâs new definition of âdeceivedâ. CGC triples down on their approach/response but theyâve been deceived?
But hey ⊠Just change meanings of words these days if you donât like the current definition thatâs been in existence for ⊠yâknow⊠hundreds of years.
A real bright guy that Rob⊠a real scholar⊠of what, I have no idea
Even if we eliminate everything else out of the equation, isnât the entire point of CGC to inspect, detect things like âbootlegsâ?
So in failing to do that, after being âdeceivedâ, once they discover a bootleg, shouldnât the issue be corrected?
Sheesh RobâŠif you want to take a stance, at least do the bare minimum of information gathering about it first.
Someone made a good point, out of all the stray dogs acetate covers graded by cgc, and that book was officially made by image, not a single 9.9 or 10. Meanwhile this bootleg has quite a few 9.9 and 10s, also taking in account that since these were all bootlegged and staples were manually added to them, how was there no damage to the book bringing down the grades on none of them?
Itâs actually worse than that. If you look at the cgc census, the Stray Dogs acetate cover had 274 submissions and not one 9.9 or 10.0.
Meanwhile Black Flags Ultimate Fallout bootleg had 30 submissions and had one 10.0 and three 9.9s. They also sent another 2 submissions of other acetate bootlegs of 30 comics each and also got exactly one 10.0 and three 9.9s in those 30 book submissions.
Nothing fishy there by cgc
Itâs the one reason why I believe cgc is doubling down defending their stance that these bootlegs deserve a blue universal 9.8 label. As bad and asinine as it is, they canât flat out come out and reveal that they were giving some retailers and dealers favorable treatment or even selling grades. This would bring the whole house of cards to tumble down on cgc. This is why cgc has been radio silent just hoping that this whole fiasco just goes away.
I donât agree with everything Rob says in his post but some of it actually makes sense. I hate it when Liefeld makes sense and I actually agree with him someâŠ
If CGC didnât double/triple down on allowing this instead of admitting they got duped (or even colluded with black flag), then I could see his point. CGC did in fact double/triple down and defend their practices, so his whole comment is just showing how dumb he is.
I agree with a lot of what Rob said, too, but CGC doesnât seem innocent here. They are either in cahoots with this scam, or they screwed up and refuse to admit it.
Exactly.
im pretty sure cgc went quiet cause their responses on the cgc forums were so dumb and getting them blasted by their community so they decided to be smart and stay quiet lol
LOL, WhatNot sucks. Itâs basically a frat boy insiderâs clique party.
âWe really donât have anything to do with this issueâ (Copyright holders would beg to differ in their court filings. )
â[We] are still evaluating a policyâ (i.e. âWe launched a platform without a counterfeit and bootleg policy in place, Lol, our bad, bro.â)
âLife doesnât revolve around comics and drama bro.â (A representative of a large reselling platform calling others bro in a condescending manner for raising legitimate concerns about counterfeit items being sold on the platform.)
Once someone throws âbroâ into a reply I find it very difficult to take them seriously. Definitely not professional.
I didnât even read it. I refuse to acknowledge a person whoâs first name may start with âRââ responses.
Because if enough people ignore someone, that person essentially ceases to exist.
Itâs like a tree falling in the forest. If no one is there to witness it, it doesnât make a sound.
