We all hate store variants but

In terms of too many exclusives in the market place, I took a look at the Star Wars 2015 #1 and there are almost 100 covers of #1 and 60 are exclusives produced by midtown, dcbs, forbidden, and others.

How many of these 60 different exclusives do you think dealers are stuck with and in a long boxs in the warehouse?

They were probably able to sell the DV 1 after Black Krrsantan appeared live.

I get what you’re saying and while some shops may do this I do think there are honest people out there selling comics. If they issue a COA with the books I’d rather just trust them than assume everyone is a dirtbag.

The risk of getting caught is so much worse than the reward of selling some more over time. If I start seeing duplicate COA #s i’d change my tune and also never buy from that store again. Again, I’m sure some ass bag has done that but i’ve personally never seen any proof of that happening. Which you’d think would be all over the place if everyone was selling way more than advertised.

I do get the skepticism though.

Unless it’s a 3rd party doing the COA that is authenticating it’s actual authenticity (it’s actual number they’ve created and selling, while not selling any others by other means), then COA are moot and about as worthless as the paper they’re printed on. Not to sound like a pessimist but I think there’s more dirtbags out there than there are honest. The honest ones are the ones selling 3k copies of the trade dress and 1k copies of the virgin variant, being open and upfront about the actual number of books they had to buy in order to even produce it.

So Jim Lee gonna be logging onto WhatNot and sell slabbed signed books, sketches, etc
? And CGC will grade his stuff fairly vs regular customers?

Also will CGC WhatNot skip the lines to get their stuff graded for the fam quickly? Smh

WhatNot Line Cutting will continue but against our CGC books unless we pay fast track obv
 :face_vomiting:

All artists have permission to submit straight to CGC or have a shop submit to CGC on their behalf, that part isn’t anything new.

But yeah we will see if they skip the lines, most likely will.

Yes this is true but now CGC and WhatNot together selling slabs for artists

Big difference is CGC will not gonna doing this for free. There is a vested interest for slabs to get top dollar.

Would love to see on these CGC WhatNot channels how many 10.0-9.9-9.8s get sold . Will we ever see a 9.6 and below slab on a modern book?

Adam is a douchebag. He’s avoiding the situation by deflection.

Most tone deaf response I have ever heard from a company. “Just forget about it and move on” are you f****** kidding? Good on nick for asking some straightforward questions.

It continues to be utterly amazing how little these people allegedly running companies understand about PR. I could recommend some undergraduate-level text books, but at this point, who knows if they’d even bother reading them.

“How dare you ask questions when we’ve roped in someone you should respect, because, y’know, “community”
” Urgh.

They don’t care. As long as people keep giving them money, they have no reason to care.

You know I was listening to Joe Jackson yesterday and this whole situation reminds me of the lyrics to I’m the Man

I’ll speak
To the masses throughout the media
And if you got anything to say to me
You can say it with cash
'Cause I got the trash and you got the cash
So baby we should get along fine
So give me all your money
Cause I know you think I’m funny
Can’t you hear me laughing
Can’t you see me smile

Agree. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to see a company crash and burn more.

“Joe Jackson” some good tunes. Stepping Out always brings back some good memories.
