We all hate store variants but

Not even comicxposure?

I don’t remember what book or cover it was, but I was sorting through my long boxes the other day and I was like ā€œman I love this cover!ā€ I flipped over the box and saw the logo and was like ā€œugh! ComicXposure!? I’m lucky this ever got to me!ā€

The $20 really does make a difference though. These sellers advertise the book, but drag their shows out. This allows customers to buy more things they normally wouldn’t consider. So $20 exponentially grows and grows

The waiting through 1.5 hours of crap you’re not interested in is the real non-starter for me. I really don’t understand why that would be more appealing than simply heading to eBay, typing in ā€œobscure comic version I need for my collectionā€ into the search bar, getting exactly what you’re looking for, then being done with the transaction in under 5 minutes.

And it has started…

:grinning:

I don’t have time for that either. I agree with you.

Not to mention trying to establish condition (and not take someone’s word for it)…having the option of high res photos to examine vs. someone flashing a moving target up on the screen for mere seconds. I like having high confidence in what I’m paying for.

How do returns work on whatnot? In case you don’t get what you paid for? Does whatnot back you up, or do you have to resort to trolling to get a response?

No idea how returns work. Luckily the handful of items I won (under 6) have been as good as I expected.

If you want to make a return and it is not the seller’s fault—like it got damaged in transit, you email Whatnot. I had this happen or some thing I bought arrived damaged and they told me I could keep it for a 30% refund or just send it to their warehouse for a full refund. They provided me a shipping label and I sent it to their warehouse and got my full refund.

I had an issue with one of their higher profile sellers. I have to say, their customer service replied pretty quickly & (after admitting themselves the seller was being difficult) issued a full refund.
I try to report good with the bad.

On that note, I recommend (if you are buying something) to record the sale/segment of the video. I’ve seen a number of Whatnot sellers promise extras, freebies, deals and such but if you don’t have proof you are out of luck.

Maybe Whatnot archives all sales now… I’m not sure and have used it infrequently now to know.

That’s another level of tech savvy required of sellers. They need to know where their screen record button is.

Did our universe pass through the singularity into some sort of alternate universe where there is no irony and nobody has any self-awareness?

There’s got to be a whole bunch of people trolling CGC right now by submitting some beat up bronze age reader copy and attaching a stapled acetate cover to get graded at this moment.

I stopped supporting Liefeld’s work when he was charging $100 for signatures and $50 for pictures at the Con.

I never pay for a signature or autograph. I’ll just keep on walking by…

I don’t mind paying $10 for it. But once they want more, I’ll walk away also.
