We all hate store variants but

I am a long time lurker on this forum, but this post is what got me to respond. That was the exact reaction I had when I saw this in my emails today. It took me several minutes to figure it out, lol.

Hmmm
if they all have it, doesn’t sound like an error to me. It was just printed that way. I hate the term pump and dump, but it certainly feels like someone is trying to create a story for a book they want to sell, imo.

Green label, huh. That’s not going to go over well with those who went in big on the book early on.

So, they pivoted it to a sales pitch for their Signature Series and related signing events?

All those influencers/youtubers at the front of the line with their dealer/exhibitor badge or however they all were at the front of the line with 75 copies - in the words of Al Pacino in scent of a woman i now say - “wherever you are, eff you”

What a disaster created by CGC for themselves.

They need to remove the already graded copies from their census as well.

The book is great to own it will always be a symbol of CGC’s hypocrisy, that’s the next Miles.

In the end the real qualified signature labels were the friends we made along the way.

There are those who will want the few blue or yellow slabs that are out there as they collect “error” books.

But otherwise CGC has finally come around to what this really is
a modified book

This is a book that only appeals to those that collect oddities
the value will reflect that over time. It would surprise me if this news resulted in a lot of people moving their copies before the value hits rock bottom.

Cgc will also move on
and people will forget
this too shall pass and CGC will not take a dent in business.

I’m trying to parse their stance. So, if it’s signed by Crain and witnessed, it gets a qualified green label. But, if it’s NOT signed by Crain and witnessed, it gets a “qualified GRADE.”

So, the implication is the grade would be different depending on whether the acetate modification is signed?

I read it to say that those with no signature will receive a qualified green label and those with a signature will receive a signature series qualified green label. I’m not sure why signatures became a major part of the explanation, except to try to dilute and confuse the message.
