We all hate store variants but

Of course he’s eating vanilla :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Could be Mexican Vanilla though… Mmmmm… Amy’s Ice Cream Mexican Vanilla is the best…

It’s yet another Keeve cover, but it’s Jan Duursema and I have a soft spot for her work. the blue background is refreshing.

It’s at Mutant Beaver and they also have Miles 25 Mayhews still available if that floats your boat.

This is too much now… Comics elite is wrong for this. Web Star Wars??

I know people bagged on this hard but I sold the regular and metal set yesterday for $450. A lot of people no longer care what’s on the inside of the book. This has nothing to do with Star Wars in any way and has nothing to do with the comic book inside in any way. It’s just a cool cover with a very limited print run and people eat it up.

Agreed - CGC started the elimination about caring about the inside of a book quite some time ago.

It makes no sense. The artist really needed to find a Star Wars theme, maybe blaster fire, or something at least related to the subject at hand. Webs on SW is just lazy, imo.

PS. A lot of indie books, every week, have lower print runs than these store variants. Scarcity does not equate to value.

Of course it doesn’t but we are talking about the Mandalorian and not a random indie book. That show and characters are so hot you could finger paint the Mandalorian and The Child with your poop and sell it. It doesn’t make sense at all but it is what it is lol

I started making money off comics when I stopped fighting city hall (all the stuff that made no sense).
I began embracing lunacy and silliness and voila! - the sales and profits came with it!

An original X-Men page by Cockrum featuring the new X-Men characters or a CGC 9.8 Dell’Otto spiderman variant

Yea - perspective. It ended a long time ago for me. Just speculate on what everyone else wants; not what makes sense.

This was the hardest thing for me to wrap my head around when I came back to collecting: what some people pay for some variants, instead of true key books or original art.

I was referring to the actual rendition of the cover, SW done w/ webs, as not making sense - from an artistic viewpoint. I wasn’t referring to the spec not making sense, as I concur with you, William. Nothing in this hobby makes sense anymore, and I’m not too sure it ever did. :beers:

The concept didn’t make sense as soon as Gleason jumped to venom and carnage. They may have “webs” but that symbiote goo doesn’t act the same and kind of undermines the whole concept. It’s pretty rote to just replicate the style without consideration about why it was a witty idea to begin with.

In Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 2 Mando and baby Yoda crash land on an icy planet and fall inside of a cave filled with web shooting spiders. Glaven! I just made it make sense

Tell me more about burger head phones.

I guess at least the artwork is drawn. This one is just a stock image with a skull drawn on it.

The image isn’t working

Hopefully this one works. The previous one is showing for me.

Sounds like a job for Arthur Suydam

Anyone grab this? I’m not a big IG fan. Sold out at Frankie’s already

I dunno if this is a hot take or not. But I find Giang and John Gallaghers art and covers really unappealing
