What Movies are you watching?

I watched it all. It was…alright. Wasnt terrible like some make it out to be. But, you can skip it.

The movie is just a setup for part 2.

Im looking forward to the rated R directors cut coming out next year

I watched the first hi can stomach the rest later. Maybe there are some saving graces toward the end. our and wasn’t impressed or all that entertained. Not the worst I’ve ever seen but not that good. I’ll see if

I probably will get to that. I Also like the cartoon Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Muppets Christmas Carol, Emmet Otter from the Disney/Henson libraries.

And let’s not forget KISS Saves Santa!

Why is there a Director’s Cut? I thought Netflix let Snyder do whatever he wanted so why doesn’t he just release one definitive version and call it a day?

Theyre doing rebel moon part 1 standard release, then in a few months a directors cut of part 1. then Part 2 standard and a directors cut

I…what? I just want to watch a movie, not a bunch of different cuts.

I really enjoyed A Murder at the End of The World on Hulu. Just a mini series, but a great whodunnit. The first couple episodes of Percy Jackson on Disney+ has me hopeful for the rest of the series.

Also, Apple was mentioned and in addition to the above, would recommend Black Bird, For All Mankind and Shrinking. And if you are ok with goofy musicals, I loved Schmigadoon.

Not a movie, but I just finished Loki Season 2. People seemed to love this, but man. This surely felt like a massively over-complicated mess. I felt like you could take out almost any one character and it really didn’t impact where it ended. It’s just a whole bunch of random things that don’t necessarily come together for any particular reason.

For example,

The whole “centuries later” thing. Really? We’re to believe Loki literally worked for centuries to just make this whole thing go faster only to find out that wasn’t the problem? Huh?

Or, at one point Loki gets pruned only to reveal it was himself doing it. He then says, “trust me, this will all make sense. Then, it’s never mentioned or done again.” The ending was interesting, and season 1 was good. But, 5.5 episodes of season 2 were just all over the place with very little purpose in the end.

last 2 nights i have tried
1st time sleeping by the end of the stars wars like monologue
2nd time maybe 10-15 minutes in

I switched to Spider-Verse 2, which I hadn’t yet seen. Damn. That’s fantastic.

I must be in the minority here…but I really enjoyed Rebel Moon. It wasn’t an amazing OMG movie, but I am a sucker for anything with the premise of the Seven Samurai. I think Part 2 will be the visual pay off with this one setting the stage.

One of my favorite animated movies ever. The animation, story, voice acting and music are all amazing.

Christmas Bloody Christmas on Shudder is an annual favourite of mine. Kind of like Small Soldiers on Christmas with sex and metal music.

Defence tech/robotics get put into mall Santa’s, who subsequently revert to their original programming, go bananas, then maim and kill everyone in sight. Good, wholesome holiday fun haha

Love it. Need to check that out.

Wrapped up season 1 a few weeks ago. Starting to work on season 2.

First Season highlights:

Walking Distance - A man stopping at a gas station outside of the town he grew up, takes a walk back, and back into time. Meets his self as a child and wants to tell him to enjoy these years. The kid, scared, breaks his leg trying to get away. The man suddenly keels over in pain grabbing his leg. The boys father, and his father, confronts him and tells him he needs to stop looking back, leave town and to start living by looking forward. The man agrees and makes his way back to the gas station, and now has a permanent limp.

What was interesting is how it made me think that he basically created some sort of alternate timeline where he has always had a limp since childhood.

There was a famous merry go round in Binghamton NY. I was watching a movie, The Rewrite, a few weeks back set in Binghamton and it had a scene with the same merry go round and it referenced the episode.

Time Enough to Last - Famous episode where a man finally gets his wish to be alone with his books…not to break his glasses leaning over to pick one up…and is essentially blind. “That’s not fair! There was time now…!” Is a chilling moment as the show ends…

And When the Sky Was Opened - This was a simple eposode where 3 astronauts return from space, but somehow their existence gradually is erased to the point no one has hear of them and they begin to disappear…and the last one standing is watching the events unfold knowing eventually he will also be eventually wiped from existence and there’s nothing he can do.

So many good episodes. What You Need. The Hitch-Hiker. Mr. Beavis. Are others that stood out.

I’ll have to do another recap when season 2 is finished. Buy the Christmas episode with Art Carney was a favorite, and I may have to make it part of my must watch shows during the holidays.

What platfor are you watching them in?

Love seeing you mention “Time Enough At Last”…in my Top 10 episodes of all time. Just seeing Burgess Meredith so young was great too!

You know, even after you finish the original series, the revamp of it in the 80’s was also great. In some cases they redid the original episodes is the only downside, although they were still fun to watch.

So many great actors and actresses got their starts via that show.

The Art Carney episode is just a wonderful story. I’m happy as my grown children have now started watching it with their own families at Christmas time!!!

I just finished the first season of Monarch on Apple. I really enjoyed it. As well the new season of True Detective on HBO is shaping up to be the best season yet. Only two episodes in but it’s great so far.
