De la Soul finally has their catalogue released on streaming services. Is it just me, myself, and I listening to these amazing tracks?

This has me very excited! I’ll be spending my day listening to De La Soul! Any idea what the hold up was on releasing it on streaming earlier?

There were quite a bit of factors. I think they changed publishing companies. On top of that, their music draws from soooo many samples, there’s quite a bit to clear legally with other artists. I know this has been done many times, but their tracks are so deep, you really got to listen for those subtle samples. I’m just glad we now have access to their amazing catalog on streaming as well!

Didn’t realize one of the members passed last month. That is really sad. Here’s the reason for the long delay:

If you don’t mind some '70s soft rock or yacht rock, I’d like to introduce you to this Drugdealer:

Nothing wrong with a little yacht rock when the mood strikes.

I’m still listening to Pink Floyd.

I’d call you a snob but I have a soft spot for vinyl too. Cassette tapes a well. I just enjoy analog media like an old fogey.

Most don’t realize, our ears are analog. Most digital music by the time it reaches your ears has to be converted back to analog. Vinyl is already recorded in analog, in it’s purest form. Unless you’re streaming at a very high hz rate (which means larger payload of data being streamed) and or the MP3 is recorded at a very high hz rate (again, not your typical 2-5mb size mp3 but much much larger to capture more of the frequency rates), this is why vinyl seems to sound much warmer and better when listening, as it’s hitting more of the frequency rates for all the notes rather than the digital blocks…

I was on a big psychobilly kick for a while. Moved over to 60’s surf rock sound. So many great bands in that arena.

…as a Former DJ & audiophile, 100%.

Went and saw Skinny Puppy in San Antonio on Thursday night… great show. It’s their Final Tour…
