So, you have an established character that’s been around since the dawn of time vs brand new unproven character and book from small publisher… that only saw a massive print run cause retailers chased the 1:1000 ratio variant.
Why is this even a topic or article? Batman is not Brzrkr and Brzrkr is not Batman.
To be fair, the article is just a Top10 list and I am the one highlighting that BRZRKR was outsold by Batman.
I only mention it because from all accounts I have heard… BRZRKR was supposed to have this HUUUGE (copyright Trump) print run that would basically render any spec as useless.
Did it have spec even if they didn’t offer a 1:1000 that retailers chased? I can’t say I would have spec’d on the book, story, etc.
Is that a surprise though? Just because retailers acted like consumers to get their 1:1000 goodie doesn’t mean this book was going to outsell a proven and established character that’s been around for 80 so years now…
Bingo, what I pointed out already. The print run was huge cause retailers acted like consumes in order to get the 1:1000 ratio variant, knowing they can return what they can’t sell.
I’m buying a few extra copies of BRZRKR after reading it. To early to tell if it’s gonna be a good story but the violence was over the top and I liked the art.
