Batman 106 vs 108

So, you have an established character that’s been around since the dawn of time vs brand new unproven character and book from small publisher… that only saw a massive print run cause retailers chased the 1:1000 ratio variant.

Why is this even a topic or article? Batman is not Brzrkr and Brzrkr is not Batman.

To be fair, the article is just a Top10 list and I am the one highlighting that BRZRKR was outsold by Batman.

I only mention it because from all accounts I have heard… BRZRKR was supposed to have this HUUUGE (copyright Trump) print run that would basically render any spec as useless.

But ya, maybe the BRZRKR print run was HUUUGE but the sales not so much.

Did it have spec even if they didn’t offer a 1:1000 that retailers chased? I can’t say I would have spec’d on the book, story, etc.

Is that a surprise though? Just because retailers acted like consumers to get their 1:1000 goodie doesn’t mean this book was going to outsell a proven and established character that’s been around for 80 so years now…

Bingo, what I pointed out already. The print run was huge cause retailers acted like consumes in order to get the 1:1000 ratio variant, knowing they can return what they can’t sell.

Agree. :fist_right: :fist_left:

BRZRKR is still a huge success. We’ve known all along that the vast majority of the print run of #1 is going to be returned.

Still no facts to back that up or how much might be returned.

Well sure, but this book isnt going to sell 600k copies.

Diamond to LCS ? Or LCS to customers ? Store variants cant be returned…(and there is a lot of them)

And we dont know how many regular cover/variants copies each Diamond account ordered…

I’m buying a few extra copies of BRZRKR after reading it. To early to tell if it’s gonna be a good story but the violence was over the top and I liked the art.

I bought 2 copies of Batman 106 and 0 Brzrkr. So I am one contributing to this trend.

I bought 7 copies of Batman 106, LCS still had some in the shelf so I’ll probably grab a couple more tomorrow.

106 1:25 is still selling like crazy. At an even higher rate today than Wednesday.

Seems to still only be selling for around $30 though.

That’s ok, at this point. Eventually, we’ll see it go up.

I got a copy for $10 at my LCS so yeah that’s still a good flip.

Personally, I don’t like selling anything till it hits a $100. It feels like a waste of time otherwise.

Federicci is great but I really dont like that 106 variant. Looks like bruce whiffed a mean fart

It’s batman so it’s the only thing I actually keep in my collection, so it won’t get sold anyway unless I get desperate because it’s my only copy
