I use to check Midtown for sold out books weekly but since they started playing the spec game as well along with COVID and their failed attempt at being a distributor (cash flow issues), I think they’re doing several things now:
They have booths at Cons and such. I am sure they have sold more than 29. Problem is the print run could be massive
Diamond claims 3000 now in the pre-order option. But yeah, this can be said for any title from any publisher. They never release the actual print runs so what’s being told to us could be completely fabricated just to create more interest through shady marketing. I mean, why not right? Nobody could ever truly prove how many are out in the wild. Someone even at the printer level could just keep on printing books for themselves…
So, I feel this thread just keeps going off track so I am locking it and will be dropping the weekly links here. I do not want to do a separate weekly post, but may end up going that route. Anyway, comments are closed for the time being.
